Activating ArtCAM

software

When ArtCAM Express 2015 or ArtCAM Insignia 2015 is supplied


by an ArtCAM sales partner or software reseller, it is
accompanied by an alphanumeric activation code located on the
back of your product packaging. Before activating the software
using this code, you must ensure:
 ArtCAM 2015 demonstration software is installed on the
computer on which you intend to use it using the supplied
installation disc.
 The computer is connected to the Internet.
To activate your ArtCAM software:
1 Double-click the ArtCAM desktop shortcut. The Product
Selection dialog is displayed:
2 Click Activate software online. A new browser window is
displayed with the ArtCAM Store’s Activation Code page shown.
3 In the Activation Code box, type your 20 character
alphanumeric code (including dashes).
4 Click Next. The Country Selection page is displayed.
5 Click the Country list box, then select your country.
6 Click Next. The Personal Information page is displayed.
7 Enter your contact information, including: full name, email
address, billing address, and telephone number.
8 Click Next. The Activation Confirmation page is displayed.
9 Click Confirm Activation. The Transaction Status page is
displayed.
An email is sent to your registered email address confirming
that your ArtCAM software has been activated. A second email
follows with your ArtCAM software licence file (*.elf) attached.
Installing your licence file
You must install your supplied licence file (*.elf) to convert the
ArtCAM 2015 demonstration software into the full version. You
can install your licence file (*.elf) automatically, manually
without creating folders, or manually creating your own folders.
To install your licence file automatically:
1 Double-click the ArtCAM desktop shortcut. The Product
Selection dialog is displayed.
2 Click Retrieve licence from server. Your licence file is copied to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Delcam.
For Windows 64-bit operating systems, your licence file is also
copied to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Delcam.
3 A message box is displayed confirming your licence file has
been installed. Click Yes to close the message box and start
your ArtCAM software.
To install your licence file manually without creating folders:
1 Save the licence file (*.elf) email attachment to your
computer desktop.
2 Double-click the ArtCAM desktop shortcut. The Product
Selection dialog is displayed.
3 Click Install licence from file. The Select Licence File To Install
dialog is displayed.
4 In the tree of the Select Licence File To Install dialog, browse
to your Desktop.
5 Select your licence file (*.elf), then click Open. The dialog
closes, and your licence file is copied to C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Delcam.
For Windows 64-bit operating systems, your licence file is also
copied to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Delcam.
6 A message box is displayed confirming your licence file has
been installed. Click Yes to close the message box and start
your ArtCAM software.
Licensing information is displayed in your ArtCAM software’s
Title bar, and by selecting the Help > About ArtCAM menu
option.
To install your licence file manually creating your own folders:
1 Save the licence file (*.elf) email attachment to your
computer desktop.
2 Rename the licence file to dcam.elf .
3 Right-click your licence file (*.elf), then select the Copy
context menu option. The file is copied to the Windows
clipboard.
4 Create the dcam folder:
a Using File Explorer, browse to C:\ on your computer.
b Right-click an empty space, then select the New > Folder
context menu option. A new folder is created, ready to be
renamed.
c Rename the new folder to dcam, then press Return.
5 Create the config folder:
a Double-click the dcam folder.
b Right-click an empty space, then select the New > Folder
context menu option.
c Rename the new folder to config, then press Return.
6 Create the pass folder:
a Double-click the config folder.
b Right-click an empty space, then select the New > Folder
context menu option.
c Rename the new folder to pass, then press Return.
7 Double-click the pass folder.
8 Right-click an empty space, then select the Paste context
menu option. The licence file (dcam.elf) is pasted from the
Windows clipboard to the folder.
9 Using File Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Delcam.
10 Right-click an empty space, then select the Paste context
menu option. The licence file (dcam.elf) is pasted from the
Windows clipboard to the Delcam folder.
11 For Windows 64-bit operating systems:
a Using File Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common
Files\Delcam.
b Right-click an empty space, then select the Paste context
menu option. The licence file (dcam.elf) is pasted from the
Windows clipboard to the Delcam folder.

Extending the Relief Clipart Library


After installing your licence file (*.elf), you can extend the
ArtCAM 2015 software’s collection of free relief clipart by
downloading and installing the Relief Clipart Library package.
To extend the Relief Clipart Library:
1 Login to the Delcam Customer Download Centre.
To login automatically, select the Help > Check for ArtCAM
Updates menu option in your ArtCAM software.
To login manually:
a Open your Internet browser and visit
http://updates.delcam.com. The Delcam Customer
Download Centre is displayed.
b Type your virtual dongle number in the Node ID box.

To find the virtual dongle number for a licensed


download-only installation, start ArtCAM, then select the
Help > About ArtCAM menu option. The dongle number is
shown in the Licensed To area as a V followed by six
digits.
c Type your registered email address in the Email Address
box.
d Click Submit. A Customer Verification email is sent to your
registered email address.
e Click the link included in the Customer Verification email.
A new browser window is opened with the Delcam Customer
Download Centre displayed.
2 Click the ArtCAM link in the site's left column. Your available
ArtCAM software downloads are displayed.
3 Click the Relief clipart pack for ArtCAM download-only
software link to download the
SetupArtCAMReliefClipartPack.exe file.
4 Right-click the SetupArtCAMReliefClipartPack.exe file and
select the Run as administrator context menu option to install
the collection of ArtCAM Relief files (*.rlf) on your computer.
5 Restart ArtCAM 2015, and select the Reliefs > Relief Clipart
Library menu option. The Relief Clipart Library panel is
displayed showing thumbnails of the installed relief clipart.
