The YES - O and T.L.E. Club at San Antonio National High School have started a community garden project to assist parents and stakeholders in providing fresh vegetables. The project involves parents from Barangay Sulong planting crops like kamote, okra, and taro in plots prepared at the back of the school. The goal is to help fight malnutrition in the community. Grade 9 TLE teacher Sir Samuel Villegas is supervising the parents and sharing his expertise to help them properly plant and cultivate the crops for a better harvest.

Club Join Forces for Green Project

A sign board installed in the bamboo fence captioned as “Mag-Gulayan Lalo’t Pandemic”, mutual project
of YES – O and T.L.E this school year 2020 – 2021 which is on implementation at the back of Grade 9 –
Chromium Classroom, San Antonio National High School. This project aims to assist parents and
stakeholders to provide vegetables in the future.
Kamote shoots planted by the parents from Barangay Sulong. Taken this May 20, 2021, at one of the
school’s backyard. This program would help the school’s fight against malnutrition.

Mang Tonyo a parent of Grade 9 – Dubmium student is naghuhukay for planting okra, Taken this May
20, 2021 at one of the school garden (back of SBM center). He said that he is happy to help and would
like to volunteer in planting vegetables some other time because this could help the community in
providing fresh nutritious meals.
Sir Samuel Villegas, Grade 9 TLE teacher is supervising the parents from Barangay Sulong in preparing
the plots for planting seeds. Shot at the back of SBM Center, May 20, 2021. Sir Sam’s know-how in
planting helps them to do it rightly for better yield results.
