A. Product to Develop
Crispy Potato Mojos
The original product to develop is the crispy potato mojos, they’re amazingly crispy and
crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Mojos were made famous some years ago
by Shakey’s Pizza. They are a snap to make and are perfect for a game day appetizer, a side
dish or anytime when you’re craving deliciousness. It is made of potato and mixed with
some seasonings and paired with a perfect sauce.
B. Specific Thing to Improve
Mojos look very plain, so we’re planning to put some spice to it. Instead of peeling potatoes
and slicing it, we will smash the unpeeled potatoes and mix it with some spices and cook it
in olive oil. We will also put some toppings on the mojos, where customers can choose what
topping they want and there is other option where we will also add some new sauces to
match with the smashed potato mojos that does not have any toppings, so the customers
can choose what sauce they want. We’re trying to understand that customers have different
taste, some wants to have toppings, some only want the original smashed mojos with just
sauce.
C. Opportunity of the Developed Product
People now is looking for something new in foods, smashed potato mojos is something new
to them, if promoted successfully, people will definitely like it. We see that fries with
toppings is becoming popular, such as the overload fries. This made us think that it can be
also apply to mojos, because they were very similar, they were all made of potatoes. There
are many opportunities of smashed potato mojos, such as it is new, so customers might get
curios and will try it, and if it will pass the customer’s taste, they will going to buy it again.
In addition, it has various of toppings and sauce that they can choose from, so it is an
advantage compare to other stores that only sells plain mojos. Smashed potato mojos is
also very instagramable, people now usually buy foods that has good appearance, because
they will take a picture of it and post it online, this is also another opportunity because
some friends online can comment if what food is that, and the one who posted can share
something about the product, it is some kind of word-of-mouth promotion, such as what
happened to maxy mango products. Potato like rice, can also make the customer feel full, in
fact potatoes is more filling than a cup of brown rice at half the calories, so it can also be an
opportunity by telling to everyone that the price of smashed potato mojos is very
reasonable because aside from enjoying the food, they can also feel full after eating it.
