Methodology
Introductory Activity The teacher will play a video of a news reporting about how
( 5 minutes) important is to help. Students are instructed get a paper and pen
and to observe and list down the exchange of conversation
between the two and how they deliver the report to the people.
Activity Divide the class into 5 groups they will play a game “pass the
(15 minutes) message”. Choose one to be their representative who will receive
first the message.
Mechanics:
I will tell a phrase and you will tell it backwards. The last person
will write the words to the board and see if it is the exact word
that I have said.

Analysis Begin by writing the following sentences on the board for the class.
(12 minutes)
*Mom said “ Get down there!”
*Mom said she wanted us to get down.
With the same group they will going to tell what is the difference
about the two sentences. They will choose a representative to
report their answers in front.
Abstraction The teacher will discuss Direct and Indirect Speech including the
(10 minutes) rule.

2. “I’m waiting for Ann” he said.

B. Change the following sentences from indirect to direct speech.
1. She said that she didn’t like fish.
2. He said he was going away for few days.
3. She said she has seen Helen in June.
4. She said she would tell him.
5. He said he might be late.
Assessment Student reporter
In this activity, students will group themselves, each group must
have 5 to 6 members.
Directions: The students will portray the given scenarios. On how
they will deliver the message in two ways the direct and indirect
way.

your parents” When you come home how will you inform your

you have to take his message and deliver it to her later. How do
you relay your brother’s information correctly in two ways.
4. Your teacher was called by the principle for the emergency
meeting. Your teacher called your attention to tell your classmates
to continue the activity. How will you relay the message of your
teacher to your classmate in two ways
5. Your brother happened to get into a trouble in school. Their
principle told to let your parents know about the accident and he
wants to meet your parents tomorrow. How will you tell the
message to your parents in two ways.
