PATOQ-Skimcoat Application

1. Surface Preparation
- Determine the damage to your walls or ceilings, if there is a lot of damage (cracks or large holes), you must repair this first.
- Perhaps you have to flatten your popcorn ceiling or what we often called “burot” or “lalum”.
- Remove foreign objects or other contaminants on areas to be applied.
- Sweep away loose particles with dust brush.
- Damp the area with water.

2. MIX THE COMPOUND ACCORDING TO PACKAGE DIRECTION


- Use putty mixing machine and pail in mixing to attain the consistency of the mixture. It should
be “SOFT CREAMY PASTE”.

3. Transfer small amount to the mud pan


- Ask assistance in transferring the prepared compound.

4. Apply the first Skimcoat

- Reminder the thickness of skimcoat must not exceed 3mm.


- Start at the corner of the wall and work down from the highest point.
- If you are skimming a ceiling, start at an edge/corner and work toward center.
- Spread the skimcoat in upward direction.
- Keep spreading the skim coat over the repair area.

Allow the first layer to set for several hours or overnight.

5. Check the quality of the wall and sand the walls

- Mark low areas with pencil using “kalis” or aluminum bars(used for checking)

6. CLEAN THE ROOM THOROUGHLY WHEN YOU ARE DONE.

MAKE SURE THAT THE UNIT/ROOM IS CLEAN FREE FROM LAITANCE CAUSED BY APPLICATION OF SKIMCOAT. ALL
TOOLS ARE ARRANGED, WASHED AND WELL MAINTAINED FOR THE NEXT USE.
