CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
BUSINESS CONCEPT AND BUSINESS MODEL
Waffle Yum was created out of imagination of an entrepreneur named
Camilla Fernandez. Since she is fond of Ube and pastry like waffle, she come
up with an idea of having a business combining what she loved both waffle
dessert and Ube tuber. Camilla as the founder of Waffle Yum take the subject
entrepreneurship to acquire more knowledge and skills in the field of business
she is planning to make. She made a research for her business for more
information and knowledge how to work things out in the business industry. In
making business it is necessary to have precise amount of capital. She planned
and decided to pitch her business idea to her colleagues: Leicah Lopez, Des
Autria, Thea Navarro, and Kim Nava, which are also entrepreneur to have a
partnership to her business to fulfill her goal.
Waffle Yum the name of the business is a two combined word basically the
waffle itself and the Yum came from the word “Yam” or Ube which is a
vegetable called as sweet potato in US. Yam is the common name for some
plant species in the genus Dioscorea (family Dioscoreaceae) that form edible
tubers; they changed the word Yam to Yum because it is indeed yummy or

delicious. This waffle is not just an ordinary waffle, it also come up with
different flavors of syrup and toppings flavored: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry
and more. It is definitely a waffle with a twist a vivid Ube waffle with toppings
for short. Waffle Yum will not just sell various kind of waffle but will also make
you feel delighted, healthy and worth it.
Waffle Yum has already started their business. The company aim to recover
their capital and earn more profit in order for them to expand their store and
branches and eventually produce more choices in their Menu that they can
introduce to the public. The company is also aware to gain the interest of the
community. The company also offers franchise for those who wants to start
small business enterprise.

provide quality taste delights for everyone. Aim to serve anybody with delicious

Waffle Yum is a profit-making store that produce a waffle product with its
special main ingredient which is the Ube or Yam a vegetable or an edible tuber
commonly known as sweet potato. Ms. Camilla Fernandez founded the Waffle
Yum company. The Waffle Yum store is located at Perez Blvd. Dagupan City,
near University of Luzon school. The company provide an innovative edible Ube
waffle product with a twist, it also come up with variety of flavored syrup
toppings to your waffle dessert.
Waffle Yum company to meet the satisfaction of the customers by serving
quality product and services. The company also consider the health and delight
gain of the customer. They will guarantee the fun and exciting experience of the
customers. The target market are the students, workers, tourists, and
neighbors from other towns.
Business are operated by young but skilled entrepreneurs that are competitive

The waffle product is well-known snack for dessert or breakfast in many
countries. The Waffle Yum offers a new look and different experience with their
product Ube Waffle. Waffle Yum target market focuses on the students,
professionals, commuters, tourists, and more. It is cheap and affordable but
the offers definitely tasty and healthy good for everyone.
DEMAND
A waffle product is not foreign to everyone as its is well-known all around
the world. Everyone can experience a new and different way our company
serve. With such, the company estimated customers will range from 50-150
waffle packs within the first day. The result of the first day demand will be
monitor by the production lead and production assistant and will used as a
guide to determine how many products can be provide every day to avoid
overproduction and limit production cost.
