Activity Sheet 3
Activity 1. Answer the following questions.
1. Describe the fandom culture that the Aldub phenomenon has created.
Others joined together to learn more about themselves, and they formed
fandom groups to learn interesting facts or to meet people who could assist
them. The AlDub phenomenon has generated and presented a very
inspirational fanbase culture. It inspired every Filipino to be purposeful while
also remembering to be happy. It showed the Filipinos' current bayanihan
spirit to the rest of the countries.
2. What do you think was the formula for the popularity of Aldub?
The crowd erupts with kilig whenever Alden and Yaya Dub exchange
dubsmash, pabebe wave, and pinky promise. When Alden flashes those
beautiful smiles with his dimples, the same thing happens. Another kilig
aspect of this “Kilig Pa More” KalyeSerye is that Alden is putting up with
all of Lola Nidora's obstacles only to see Yaya Dub. The AlDub country is
eagerly anticipating their hero and heroine's "happily ever after." Until
then, they'd be on the tip of their seats, waiting to see what would happen
next and when Alden and Yaya Dub's "forever" would come true.
3. What can be inferred about the traits of 21st century viewers if you are
to base it on the fandom of the Aldub love-team?
I am aware that I am a decent netizen and regard myself as such. I spend
the most of my time in bed, staring at my computer screen for the most of the
day (which you would consider a terrible habit), scrolling down on Facebook,
chatting with friends, watching YouTube, and surfing the internet. However,
given the amount of time I spend on the internet, I have never started a fight
on social media, especially YouTube and Facebook.
Activity 2. Make a timeline of the AlDub story based on the text, place your
answer on the diagram below.
