- PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical Education is "education through the physical". It aims to develop students' physical competence
and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities
associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of
sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition,
moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest.
PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST
A fitness test, also known as a fitness assessment, is comprised of a series of exercises that help evaluate
your overall health and physical status. This will be performed according to the set of standard to be able
to evaluate correctly and like wise on the post test. The purpose is to determine whether the
performance as result level to the standard and likewise if there is a positive result or improvement of
the exercises conducted.
PHYSICAL FITNESS COMPONENTS
Health related
Cardio Respiratory Endurance - is the ability of the heart and lungs to sustain a prolong
continued contraction
Mascular strength - is the extent to which muscles can maximally exert force
Mascular Endurance - is the extent to which your muscles can repeatedly exert a
force. This refers to how many times you can do a movement
over and over again before the muscle fatigues and you need to stop
Flexibility - the ability of the body and other extremities to perform a wide range
of movements
Body composition -This refers to the amounts of body fat and lean body tissue
found on your body.
Skill Related
Agility - is the ability to perform a series of repetitive, explosive power
movements in opposing directions.
Balance - is the ability to control the body’s position, either stationary
(standing on one foot) or while moving (one leg squat)
Power - refers to the ability to exert maximum muscular contraction
instantly in an explosive burst of movements
Speed - is the ability of movement in any parts in the same kind for
the shortest period of time
Coordination - the ability to use different parts of the body together smoothly and
efficiently.
Reaction of Time - the quickness an organism responds to some sort of stimulus.
BMI - Body Mass Index Body Mass Index (BMI) is a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in
meters. A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness. BMI can be used to screen for weight categories that
may lead to health problems but it is not diagnostic of the body fatness or health of an individual.
Formula
The Classification
There are three main body types that occur naturally. The type of body you have greatly impacts your
workout and how hard you will have to work in order to achieve your ideal body shape and muscle density.
The different body types are as follows:
Endomorph: This person looks or seems to be fatter than he/she actually is due to the stature. They will
indeed look heavier even when they are fit and in shape because of the body type that they have.
Characterized by a thick rib cage, blocky stature, wide, thicker joints, shorter limbs and hips are wide.
Mesomorph: These are the fortunate ones who have a muscular and well developed structure. They look
well-proportioned usually even when they carry a little of extra added weight. Characterized by narrow
waist, thinner joints and long and round muscle bellies.
Ectomorph: They are distinguished usually by a lack of muscle tissue. They also seem to be low on fat
because their body type is this way. Characterized by a thin build with long limbs, small joints and narrow
hips.
Once you have figured out your body type, then you exactly come to know and realize what and how you
have to do to keep your body in shape. You will be able to talk to and understand your body by doing this.
Half the battle is already won by doing so.
