Remittance of Examination fees and submission of Application
by the Ph.D. Scholars – reg.
1. The Ph.D. Scholars for whom the Doctoral Committee Meeting for finalising the Syllabus and
Question Paper(s) for the Qualifying Examinations is over are informed to receive and submit
the application form for the Qualifying Examination to the Office of the undersigned along with
the examinations fee remittance Challan. The Research Supervisors are requested to
communicate the same to the Research Scholars concerned. The examination fees for the
Qualifying Examination are as follows:
a) Part –A : Research Methodology … Rs.150/-
b) Part –B : Specialised Area of Study … Rs.150/-
c) Part – C : Computer Proficiency … Rs.150/-
Cost of Application form … Rs. 10/-
2. The Examination fee shall be remitted into the Registrar’s A/c No:10000 in the Canara Bank,
Gandhigram Rural Institute or the same may be paid by crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of
the Registrar, GRI-DU, Gandhigram obtained from Canara Bank payable at Gandhigram (Code No.
8500) or from State Bank of India payable at Ambathurai (Code No:3373).
3. The last date for remittance of examination fee is 02.05.2011.
4. Examination fee once paid shall not be refunded or adjusted or held over for any other or subsequent
appearances.
5. The last date for the acceptance of the duly filled in application forms at the office of the Controller
of Examinations is 02.05.2011.
6. Incomplete applications or applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
7. The syllabus and pattern of question papers(s) for the Qualifying Examination may be obtained from
the Research Supervisors concerned.
8. The Research Scholars will be given TWO CHANCES for passing the qualifying Examination. Absent
for the Qualifying Examination will be treated as ONE CHANCE.
9. The Research Scholars who fail to secure the passing minimum (55 % marks each) have to reappear
for the examination.
10. The Research Scholars who joined the programme from 25.05.2005 to 31.12.2007 have to appear for
Part – C also.
11. The Research Scholars may get their hall tickets from the Chief Superintendent for Semester
Examinations one day before the commencement of the Examinations.
