5. ADJUSTMENT OF COMPONENT PARTS
5-1 MAIN CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT
• Check and adjustment of V-belt tension (main clutch)
CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
• Don’t adjust the height of the clutch pedal
locking bolt.
A
• This should be done after adjusting the
intermediate belt tension.
2 B
1. When the clutch (V-belts) slips, loose the lock nuts (2 3

pcs,) then move the adjust bolt toward B . 1

2 Lock nut
3 Adjust bolt 4
Reference for proper belt tension
1) Depress the clutch pedal completely.
2) Depress the center of each belt with finger pressure.
5
Displacement at center of belt/load to belt
8 to 10 mm/5kgf

IMPORTANT
• Do not adjust by means of clutch pedal bolt.
• Too much movement toward B may loose normal
clutch function.
2. When you cannot disengage the clutch perfectly, 6
• move the adjust bolt toward A , or
• please prevent V-belts from turning around engine
pulley by adjusting V-belt stopper.

4 Brake spring
Reference for proper brake spring tension
1) Set the parking brake lever is ON position. 4

2) Check the length (L) of brake spring.

Length of brake spring
70 to 71 mm

IMPORTANT
• If you move the adjust bolt toward B too much,
the brake is applied at all times. This will cause
the damage of transmission.

29
5-3 STEERING LEVER ADJUSTMENT
• Check and adjustment of steering lever
CAUTION 1
To avoid personal injury:
• First stop the engine.
• After servicing, make sure the function of
steering lever.
If it is difficult to disengage or engage the steering clutch,
check the following below.
1. Check the steering lever free travel.
2. If steering lever free travel exceeds the limit, loosen the
lock nuts and adjust the rod.
3. After the adjustment, tighten up the lock nuts.

CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
• First stop the engine.
• Be sure to check the braking force of steering
brake after adjustment. 4

1. Set the parking brake lever at ON position.

2. Check that the adjust bolt 7 contacts to brake plate 6 ,
when pulling the steering lever approx. 85 to 95mm.

5-4 BELT TENSION ADJUSTMENT
• Check and adjustment of steering lever
CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
• First stop the engine.
1. Loosen the V-belt tension by loosening lock nut for tension bolt after a little loosening two of
bolts for hydraulic pump.
2. Adjust the tension by tightening adjusting bolt for tension bolt.
3. After the adjustment, tighten up the lock nut and two of bolts for hydraulic pump. Reference

• Check and adjustment of V-belt tension (Transmission drive belt)

CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
1. Be sure to stop the engine and remove the
key before checking the belt tension.
2. Be sure to reinstall the detached safety shield
after maintenance or checking.

5-5 CRAWLER ADJUSTMENT
• Check and adjustment of rubber crawler tension
CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
• If the crawler tension is too high, abnormal
stress will be applied to the idler, sprocket
and crawler, causing serious accidents or A

excessive wear to occur.

Adjust the crawler tension by turning adjusting bolt after
detach the snap pin and stopper to make clearance A
between 15~20mm when pushed with the thumb.

3 Adjusting bolt
IMPORTANT
• Be sure to move the machine forward
before the adjustment. This is because,
1
after backward movement of the machine,
the crawler is tensed on the upper side,
making correct adjustment impossible.
• The adjusting bolt will become difficult
to turn when the sticking mud hardens.
• After work, always grease the thread. K70E-U006

• Excessive tension results in trouble such as:

• Increase of running resistance and reduction of driving power.
• Excessive wear of crawler.
• Insufficient tension results in trouble such as:
• Disengagement of crawler.
• Defective engagement of sprocket.
• Excessive wear of crawler.
• After completing the work, clean the crawler units, removing sticking soil completely.

6. REPLACING OF WEAR OUT PARTS
1) Brake lining & Brake drum wear
Measure the brake lining O.D & the brake drum I.D. with the vernier calipers.
If the measurement is less than the allowable limit, replace the parts
