[Comparison of Nouns]

Regla. There are various degrees of comparison with nouns.

1. superioridad más + [noun] + que

2. inferioridad menos + [noun] + que

3. igualdad tanto, -a, -os, -as + [noun] + como

Regla. To express a comparison, place the noun within one of the above expressions:

ejemplos:

más dinero que more money than

menos dinero que not as much money as


(less money than)

tanto dinero como as much money as

Note: The word tan is used in comparisons with adjectives and adverbs, but the word tanto (or
one of its forms) is used in comparisons with nouns.

The words tanto and tanta are translated by "as much."


The words tantos and tantas are translated by "as many."
