DPS Pune 2020-21 Fee Update

The school has decided not to increase fees for the 2020-21 academic session in light of the government's notification. Any excess fees collected in April-May 2020 will be adjusted against June-July 2020 fees. While many parents requested no transport fees be charged during lockdown, the school explained transport expenses include salaries and statutory costs so fees will remain Rs. 2,000-2,200 as in 2019-20. NACH mandates for June-July fees will be sent July 6th and no late fees will be charged for April-July payments until July 31st.

Fee Collection
Delhi Public School Pune <info@dpspune.com> 2 June 2020 at 22:28

Dear Parent,

We have received many emails from parents expressing their concerns about the fees for the current
academic session. This letter may be construed as a response to all such concerns, as replying individually
was not found feasible.

Basis the notification dated 08-05-2020, issued by the Government of Maharashtra, the School
Management has decided not to increase the fees in academic session 2020-21. This implies that the fees
paid by you for your child’s education (and transport, wherever applicable) in academic session 2019-20 will
remain unchanged in 2020-21. It follows then, that any excess fees collected in April – May, 2020 will be
adjusted against the fees due for June – July, 2020.

Since many of you have written to us not to charge Transport Fees for the period of the lockdown, we would
like to clarify the issue. You would understand that Transport Fees are calculated on a monthly basis, taking
into account the non-plying of school buses during the 6-week summer vacation. It also has to be
understood that expenses on account of salaries and benefits to transport department staff (drivers and
conductors), statutory expenses like Road Tax, Fitness Certificate Charge and Road Permit Expenses,
apart from maintenance, repairs, insurance, depreciation and interest cost, make up for a lion’s share of the
school transport running expenses. However, we shall continue to collect Transport Fees from all school
transport users at the same rate as in 2019-20 – INR 2,000 for Class Nursery–V and INR 2,200 for Class
VI–XII.

Further, we wish to inform you that NACH Mandates for collection of fees for June – July, 2020 will be sent
to our bank on Monday, July 06, 2020. We would also want you to note that upto July 31, 2020, no
Administrative Charge will be levied for any delay in payment of fees for the period April – July, 2020.

We look forward to your understanding and continued cooperation.
