John Gladhimer E. Canlas is my name.
I am a boy was born in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila on Saturday,
December 21st of 2002. I was born as the third son in the family. My father’s name is George Canlas and
my mother’s name is Janeth Canlas.
I started studying at the age of 3 years old at Colegio San Augustin in Binan, Laguna. I graduated from
kindergarten in year 2006-2009. Elementary school in Our Lady of Assumption College from year 2009-
2015. I was in a lot of trouble in this time, to the point that I accidentally hit someone with a wood, and I
got bitten by a cat that I harshly played with. High school in the same school from 2015-2018, I was so
devastated during those times because I lost my older brother, it was the saddest event that happened in
my life. So, I strived so hard to do well in my studies, and I got in with honors. I was happy because all of
my hard work paid off.
In Senior Highschool I studied at Far Eastern University in Manila, from 2018-2021. I lived temporarily
at my condo because my home took about 1-2 hours form Laguna to Manila, so they decided to get me a
condo and live there. I agreed to it and my younger siblings who were a year and two years younger than
me will live with me too so I didn’t have any problems with it. However, sometimes I felt homesick and
missing my family, but I endure it alone. Especially when I failed one of my subjects here, it downed me,
I cried while telling it to my mother but she said that it was okay and just make it up in second semester.
Luckily, I have my friends who were there through my ups and downs. We went to different events in
Manila, and played with others outside manila. We also went to Aurora in my friend’s hometown, we
swam at the beach and went for a stroll. When the school was almost over pandemic started and didn’t get
to finish our 11th grade.
And now that I’m in college, I am currently studying at the Far Eastern University Tech. I take computer
engineering because some says that I am good at technologies and I love handling with it. But I really
want to be a Pilot but I was worried about how much will it cost because I looked it up and in order to be
a pilot, we need to rent a small airplane which is expensive so I did not take it. Then one very special
person came to my life, she made me happier. She is my girlfriend, things came but we fought together,
we shared our problems and solve it together as well.
Also, I’m happy that my dad will stay with us and just do his work at home. Because when the pandemic
occurred, he still goes to different places for his work, and I’m concerned that he might get infected of the
virus.
I’m interested in playing volleyball, go to the gym lifting weights, and reading manhwa and mangas. I
love playing volleyball because I can let my stress out and I can spend time with my friends who are my
also my teammates. And also, the unforgettable moment that happened in my life is reading manhwa
because I feel like I’m the one who’s portraying the main character.
I have a lot of big dreams; I’m always trying to reach every milestone that can happen in my life. But, I’m
a trouble-maker, who always being sent to the guidance office for scolding me. One of my weaknesses is
that I’m impatient and stubborn. So, I decided to show my aspiration through studying hard in school.
On the other hand, I have my strengths, I can lead, I am brave and open-minded person. When I was a
child, my parents always that I will be a successful man, and I am sure about that. I am diligent, friendly
and an artistic boy. I do what I want, knowing my limits and as long as I do not harm other people from
what I wanted to do. I give my best to every work I did and will do, and hoping that I will achieve my
dreams in the near future.
My parents are my inspiration, they always supported me in everything that I want and they sacrifice for
me so that I do not starve and have what I wanted. They give me spirit to look for the brighter side of life
to make me try and realize my dreams. The most special moment happened in my life is when the day
that I was brought into this world.
