The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for promoting sustainable and universally accessible tourism. UNWTO works to advance tourism practices and policies worldwide by generating market knowledge and tourism statistics, promoting competitive policies, and fostering tourism education and training for its member countries. It comprises 156 member countries, territories, and over 400 affiliate members representing the private sector and aims to maximize the economic and cultural benefits of tourism while minimizing negative impacts.
