East or West Home is Best
Home is one of the most important fundamental requirements in our life. Nobody would argue, that the
story of our life begins exactly at home. There we start discovering the world, our blood and distant
relatives, friends and other people and things. There is a great proverb for it – Home is where the heart
is.
To begin with, the original meaning of the word “home” in English and other Indo – European
languages too, was a safe dwelling place. In Old English it came to mean a fixed abode where people
habitually lived and sometimes was extended to include members of a family. Webster’s says that
“house” comes from the same root as “sky’ and was used to mean a “covering and concealing”.
Honestly, I can explain this definition in another way.
For me, home isn’t just four walls and a roof. It’s cooking, cleaning, playing and family living. But this
isn’t above all. Home is the place, where you can always meet love and sincerity(сінсеріті) of your
relatives, kindness of your mother and understanding of your father. Wherever I am, I’m usually
homesick of the flat, my own room and important people for me. A special pleasure I get, when it’s the
time of homecoming after my studies, when parents take me off from the bus station and we go home
together.
My hometown, homemade food, even housework makes me feel on cloud nine. At home I usually feel
desirable and relaxed, it is something intimate and private. Home is where you feel safe because no one
is a stranger for you. My parents, who teach me many things and I learn most of the things from them
before I realize anything on my own, also play a very important role in formation me as a housewife.
My parents created the home where I lived originally. Now I am on my own and I have to create a home
that matches only my identity(айдентіті).
So, I believe, a real home is the best place in the world, where you feel cozy and safe, otherwise it isn’t
home.
