ASTM F36 – Compressibility and Recovery of
Gasket Materials
Scope:
This test is used to determine the compressibility and recovery of gasket
materials. The sample is compressed to a preload value for a small period
of time and the thickness recorded. A higher force is then applied for 60
seconds and the thickness recorded before the load is removed. After
another 60 seconds the preload is applied and the thickness recorded.
