General Description General Description
A high-grade, high-quality, advanced individual air-conditioning system that is able to respond to expanding,
more sophisticated housing environment needs.
Large size indoor units are required for coping with the large space like the condominiums or the big houses
where systems are used at present. Besides, there are needs to provide the room air conditioners
owing to the sophisticated interior and small rooms.
On the background of these needs, the new multi outdoor unit, which can connect both the residential indoor
units and the light commercial indoor units, has been developed.
LG Electronics Inc., which has been a top air conditioner maker has developed " " system that can
efficiently control air-conditioning ensuring a better environment.
A lot of information regarding the design and the installation of " " system is included in this
publication.
We hope that with this information you would become an expert of the " " system and be more
comprehensive to the system.

MPS(Multi Power System) Variable Control :
Big Energy Saving with MPS Control
• Comfort Control
- Conventional Operation : The compressor must turn on and off to reach desired temperature setting. A
large portion of power is used during restarting. This causes unnecessary power consumption.
- MPS(Multi Power System) Control : This is a power saving system with two rotary compressors of different
capacity (60% & 40%) operating an A/C at high power until it reaches desired temperature. And when it
reaches the temperature, only the 40% capacity rotary compressor operates.

CHAOS theory to LG Air conditioners.
Down Speed :Fast
Wind-up effect is controlled by vane angle and speed
to evenly distribute nature-like air throughout the
room. This function analyzes the characteristic of air
flow distribution and creates the pleasant feeling of Angle of vane

JET Cool
Jet Cooling function is for quick cooling. In this mode, Normal
strong and cool air is blown at high speeds for 30 Jet Cool
minutes until the room temperature reaches to 18°C. 3.8 M 5.8 M
Healthy Dehumidification
The hot and humid air has a tendency to rise by convection.
Healthy Dehumidification optimizes this algorithm to keep an
optimum humidity without feeling cold in indoor place.

Zone Control(Accessory)
It controls the temperature of each zone. Opening or
closing of the damper is controlled by sensing the
temperature of each zone. In the cooling mode, if the
temperature of a particular zone is lower than set
temperature then the damper is closed. On the other
hand if the temperature of a particular zone is higher
than the set temperature, damper is opened to
provide cooling to the zone and vice versa in the
heating mode.

CAUTION
After the confirmation of the above conditions, prepare the wiring as follows:
1) Never fail to have an individual power circuit specifically for the air conditioner. As for the
method of wiring, be guided by the circuit diagram posted on the inside of control cover.
2) The screw which fasten the wiring in the casing of electrical fittings are liable to come loose from
vibrations to which the unit is subjected during the course of transportation. Check them and
make sure that they are all tightly fastened. (If they are loose, it could cause burn-out of the
wires.)

4) Confirm that electrical capacity is sufficient.
5) See to that the starting voltage is maintained at more than 90 percent of the rated voltage marked
on the name plate.
6) Confirm that the cable thickness is as specified in the power source specification.
(Particularly note the relation between cable length and thickness.)
7) In a wet or moist area, always install an earth leakage circuit breaker.
8) The following would be caused by voltage drop.
• Vibration of a magnetic switch, which will damage the contact point, fuse breaking, disturbance of the
normal function of the overload.
9) The means for disconnection from a power supply shall be incorporated in the fixed wiring and

11.1 Selection of the best location
• If an awning is built over the unit to prevent direct sunlight or rain exposure, make sure that heat radiation from
the condenser is not restricted.
• Do not place animals and plants in the path of the warm air.
• Take the air conditioner weight into account and select a place where noise and vibration are minimum.

Necessity of a trap
Since there is fear of the oil held inside the riser piping
flowing back into the compressor when stopped and
causing liquid compression phenomenon, or cases of
deterioration of oil return, it will be necessary to
provide a trap at an appropriate place in the riser gas
piping.
