Topic: managing the global pandemic

(topic background): For the first time, the World Health Organization (WHO) identified the
novel coronavirus as a pandemic. COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the coronavirus
pandemic, is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. (The SARS-CoV-2).
The first case in the world was in Wuhan china.

The COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea is part of the global pandemic.First coronavirus case

international airport. Although all facets of society are engaged in pandemic preparedness and
reaction, the national government is a natural leader in overall planning and cooperation efforts.

A pandemic could affect the societies as well as the individuals it is not just a medical
phenomenon it could cause disruption, anxiety, stress, stigma, and xenophobia.South Korea
reported 86574 cases and 1553 deaths, and 77083 recoveries (2/21/2021).

(past international action): The WHO shared some points on how to keep yourself from getting
infected for example by keeping at least one meter apart between yourself and others. to prevent
the disease from spreading wearing a mask is important for yourself and others, as well as
avoiding crowds and social gatherings. Many people said they accepted the virus was genuine,
but they were concerned about their jobs and expenses, and how the shutdowns were treated
inconsistently.

(country policy): The economy in south Korea is the least affected economy in OCD. One of
the successful pillars to contain covid-19 in south Korea was the testing booths located all over
the country.

Mr. moon Said “We must not only enhance international cooperation for developing vaccines
and treatments but also guarantee their equitable access for all countries, once they are
developed.” site
Resource from (15 march 2020) the foreign minister speaks to the BBC saying that the extensive
testing has been the key for South Korea’s low coronavirus facility rate, and the government has
the responsibility to “guard against the pandemic.” site

(Possible solutions):
 Consider how many people you are meeting in a day.
 One of the important stuffs each individual should take is to wear a mask when he/she are in
public. For the safety of your health and others
 Stay at home whenever you feel sick
 Sanitizing surfaces in public from chairs to elevator buttons etc could prevent the spread of
the virus.
South Korea have made a system called the track and trace system where anyone located near a
new covid-19 case were flashed a warning on a disaster alert app which almost everyone has it
on their phones.
