connected ecosystem.
Today, when technology has infused our lives, we inhabit a world that is increasingly
moving towards a connected ecosystem; a new age where machines intelligently
transmit and receive commands and function independently. IoT and other
technological evolutions are transforming every facet of life with the touch of
connectivity. Inter-device connectivity and seamless data-flow are ushering in an
era of info-nomics with focus on cost, efficiency and user-experience. A smart
ecosystem with several inter-dependent components or sub-systems is a reality
today. Smart Cities, Smart Buildings, Smart Offices, Smart Manufacturing and Smart
Ecosystems at every level of social, commercial and industrial order, are bound to
improve the quality of life and contribute to more sustainable communities.

As India races towards digital-driven life and economy, Polycab is deeply committed
to usher in the Smart Connection.

PHILOSOPHY
We at Polycab have always been working towards making India self reliant by enabling and
empowering connections that matter.

Polycab telecom has worked recently as a Project Implementation Agency (PIA) with its consortium-partner for BharatNet,
world’s largest rural broadband project, which aims to connect more than 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats with a 100 Mbps
connectivity through the optical fibers at affordable prices. We executed surveys, planning, supply, installations, end-to-end
integrations, testing and commissioning of optical fiber networks (underground and aerial) with GPON-equipment, traffic
provisioning on a built network, service provisioning of the created network and much more in Gujarat and Bihar under
BharatNet Phase-II initiative. With16,517 kms in Gujarat and 3,785 kms in Bihar, we laid around 20,000 kms of optical fiber
network in a calendar year.

With 3,767 Gram Panchayats in Gujarat and nearly 1,012 Gram Panchayats in Bihar, we lit up around 4,500 GPs in a year. By

decades ago. As compared to traditional copper wires, Fiber Distribution Management System, Fiber Distribution
optical fiber cables are less bulky, lighter, more flexible and Frame, Optical Fiber Patch cords & Pigtails, Optical Fiber
carry large amounts of data at very high speeds. Conceived adapters, Optical Fiber Termination Box, etc.
to shape the networks of the future, Polycab Telecom has
been involved from material design to rolling out the most Knowing that the high speed data-networks will drive
complex of architecture or bandwidth challenges, with its backhaul fiberisation, we’re building our OFC based
deep expertise in creating OFC systems. network architectures as the primary solution for backhaul
and fixed broadband in the country and world over.
We have set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing hub along Polycab Telecom is continually ramping up its capabilities

Duly supported by our skilled and highly expert team, we based on the current ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’
manufacture single mode and multi mode cables with missions in domestic segment.
various designs as per the requirements, like Duct Cables,
Armoured Cables, FTTH, Figure-8, Aerial cables,
Indoor/Outdoor Cables, Ribbon Cables and Special

FRP | ARP RODS
With the whole range of fibre-connectivity and fibre-
management approach, Polycab Telecom provides
inclusive end-to-end solutions to its customers. As a
champion of cross-technology products and solutions,
Polycab’s telecom-team understands the critical
requirements of its customers and then, designs FRP Rods
and ARP Rods, in complete compliance with the industry’s
norms and standards. Our backward integration capability
ensures the quality, availability and faster delivery of these
products.

FRP rods, located in the centre of the optical-fibre-cables,

combine the high performance-properties of glass-
reinforcements with unique resin-formulations to produce
a strong and cost-efficient cable-reinforcement. Our FRP
rods are most suitable for multi-loose tubes, uni-tubes,
slotted core or ribbon cables and are typically used as
central or peripheral reinforcement in optical-fibre-cables.

ARP rods are non-metallic composites, designed primarily

for use as a central strength-member in fibre-optic-cables.
Our ARP rods are known for their flexibility and high
modulus, making them suitable for FTTx Cables, Micro-
duct and aerial-drop cables. These rods can endure the
highest stress-levels and tight bends. Thus, our ARP rods
are ideal for cable designs for FTTH-applications, where
the cables are subjected to sharp bends.

With the Indian telecom sector’s recent growth riding on

the data-revolution and the rising need to have improved
broadband connectivity, Polycab is all prepared to meet the
FRP-ARP-demand for optical-fibre-cables from the mega-
digitisation drive in the country.

PRODUCT FEATURES
better bending properties with minimum weight
> Light weight, high strength and superior dimensional stability
> Low expansion: ARP has a low coefficient of thermal expansion than
steel wire and FRP in a wider temperature range
> Impact and break resistance: ARP has much higher tensile strength
> ARP is non-metallic material not sensitive to electric shock due to
lightning rain and other climatic scenarios
> Enables the cable to be compact, aesthetic and flexible, especially for
the indoor layouts

IGFR YARNS
IGFR or Impregnated Glass Fibre Reinforcement solutions
form a prime offering of our passive connectivity solutions.
They are used as flexible strength-member for optical-
fibre cables, in combination with FRP rods to provide
peripheral reinforcement.

We manufacture Impregnated Glass Fibre Reinforcement

yarns using E-glass fibres with branded PU resin-systems
and craft an advanced, value-added reinforcement solution
with top-in-line smoothness, softness and strength. We
provide on them aptly smooth and flexible coating which
facilitates their handling and removes dust and wobbly
fibres during cable-production even at very high speeds.
Different coatings bring in different levels of productivity
and cable-strength. A high strength-to-weight ratio
provides an easy handling of cables of different weights.

We offer IGFR-yarns in diverse customisations, specified by

our customers, to meet their needs. We continue to refine
each type, improving properties and processability. Our
R&D efforts always focus on increased production output,
lowered costs and enhanced performance of the finished
products.

Polycab is all geared up to meet the IGFR demand for

world-class optical fibre cables.
