CAREER GOALS

AMY SHORTRIDGE
When I graduated high school in 2003, I had no idea what I wanted to study in college.
Guess what, it’s 2022…. and I’m still not totally sure.

Information technology is what I consistently come back to as “most interesting”, so

here I am! It fits in with my interests, both in my “corporate” and artistic life and I’m
hoping that I’ll figure out the exact concentration along the way. A college degree has
always been a goal of mine and there’s no better time than now to make it a reality,
and I want to show my children that anything is possible no matter how late in life you
decide to start.

So I guess my goal is to narrow things down:

1. To finally choose a degree pathway – I’m 99% sure I’m going to stick with
Information Technology
2. As of right now my first goal is to get my Associates, but I’ve always wanted to
attend the University of Maryland. Attending in person may be a young person’s game,
but you never know!
3. I’ve worked in telecommunications, biotechnology, graphic design, but I really think
aviation is what I like the most. I would love to figure out exactly where in this
community is the perfect job for me.
