BEDROOM RENOVATION PROGRESS REPORT


PURPOSE OF REPORT
The purpose of this report is to update myself on the progress we currently made in the process
of completing my bedroom renovation. I’m doing this project for the first time with my cousin
and one other friend. We began this project on January 28th, 2021 and wrote this progress
report on March 7th, 2021.
To do list and estimated dates:
1. Design blueprint for room (January 28-29) 6. Drywall & insulation (March 5-8)
2. Contact Framers (February 1) 7. Install doors (March 14)
3. Tear dividing wall down (February 12-14) 8. Paint room (March 19-21)
4. Frame closet area (February 23) 9. Cleanup (March 26-28)
5. Install new light fixture (March 1) 10. Refurnish (April 1st)

WORK COMPLETED
WEEK 1-2

• Design layout was completed on the 29th of January


• Framers were contacted on February 1st
WEEK 3-4

• Tearing down the dividing wall for closet was completed on February 14th
• February 23rd the framing for the closet was completed
WEEK 5-6
• Installing the light fixtures and bulbs for room was done on March 1st
• Insulation is completed on the 5th of march
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

• Period of no progress being made while waiting for material and framers to show up
and complete their job.
• The installation of lights and insulation got pushed back so drywalling had to be done a
couple days later.
WORK REMAINING
WEEK 5-6

• Finish drywalling, mudding, and prepping the closet


WEEK 7-8

• Install the closet and bedroom door


• Finding the colored paint and painting the room
WEEK 9-10

• Need to cleanup at the end of the project


• Refurnish the bedroom and closet once the rest is completed
CONCLUSION
Up to this current period we have completed everything up to insulation in the closet and in the
process of drywalling in week 5-6. The target date I set for the project to be done is April 8th.
We fell of track at the beginning of the project with waiting on material and framers but were
managed to catch back up on track for the upcoming estimated dates.
RECOMMENDATIONS

• I recommend calling the framers as soon as possible to get you scheduled the soonest
possible date for maximum efficiency.
• Prepare a material list so you know exactly what is needed to do your project, this helps
not have to go to the store mid work because something is missing.
