5 ENGINE OIL
A. Perform oil level check of engine № 1 and № 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-11-600-801)
CAUTION: DO THE “REPLENISH THE ENGINE OIL” PROCEDURE BEFORE THE OIL TANK
BECOMES COOL (60 MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN). IF THE TANK
IS COOL, YOU CAN FILL IT TOO MUCH AND CAUSE AN INCORRECT
INDICATION OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION RATE.
Do a check of the oil quantity with the sight gage.
If the oil level is below the full mark, add engine oil to the gravity fill port of the oil tank and
stop before the full mark of the sight gage.
B. Calculate oil consumption for each engine after oil replenishment (Ref. AMM SUBTASK 71-
00-00-910-025-F00).
Oil quantity refilled (quarts/gallons/liters)
Oil consumption per flight hour =
Last leg flight hours
Normal oil consumption is less than 0.4 US quart/hour (0.38 liters/hour).
NOTE: You must RECORD oil consumption for engines in ATLB (“REPORT” box) and use the
fault isolation manual (FIM) if one of the following conditions occur:
The oil consumption shows a gradual increase.
The oil consumption shows a sudden step increase.
The oil consumption is more than 0.8 US quart/hour (0.76 liters/hour).
B1
C. Perform oil level check on engine № 1.
B1
D. Perform oil level check on engine № 2.
