Background and Introduction:
Even to this day, women who fail to finish their studies are stuck being
housewives and want to showcase their talents through handicrafts and
stitching using recycled materials. Not only does this program give them
the chance to have income without having to finish their studies, it also
gives them the opportunity to do what they want to do with the
knowledge they have and at the same time, help the environment. This
organization gives the opportunity of hope for a better life, harmonious
unity that would help create the strong voice needed leading to their
empowerment and stimulate public awareness and support women’s
issues and concerns. The RA 9710 or the Magna Carta for
Women(MCW) is the legal basis of this project/organization. It promotes
the full participation and equitable representation of women in all
spheres of society particularly in the decision making and policy making
processes in government and private entities, in order to fully realize
their role as agents and beneficiaries of development.
Objectives:
To recognize and highlight women’s key roles and accomplishments in
leadership, community development and decision-making.
To increase awareness on engaging women to participate at all levels of economic
development particularly in rural areas.
To share strategies and best practice of women to engage in small and medium
enterprises for self-employment and additional income for their families.
To contribute to minimizing solid waste of Naga.
To create livelihood and ecological awareness through community organizing.
To have deeper engagement on women empowerment.
Scope:
❁During the Phase 1 of our project we will dedicate the time in gathering
supplies, cleaning the streets and get the used materials that can be reused
and turned into new and creative handicrafts that the women will be
making. We will also use this time to sort out the recycled cans/bottles/etc
for better understanding.
❁Phase 2 will take place in the venue center that we would be choosing, we
will need to decorate the venue to have a comfortable working space and
have seats out for those who want to witness the women’s works and
experience. At this time, the sign ups will also take place, and the
advertising campaigns for publicity and information regarding this project.

Monitoring and Evaluation:
Before anything else, we first brainstormed about what our project plan
would be and what we can benefit from it. We had a lot of ideas but we
chose to stick with this subject because we believe that women can also
contribute in many ways other than working and being trapped in the house.
With the amount of women who can do handicrafts and other practices that
can be applied to our project event, we can build a foundation and an image
for those women who are willing to participate, and that’s what we aim for.
The expected outcome of this project is that we hope that the women
would get more opportunities to have a better income and for them to
engage in small and medium enterprises. We hope that through this project
opportunities will come to these talented women. Through this program, we
hope that the women would develop new skills and improve their talent.
This program is not only for the benefit of these talented women but
also for the benefit of the environment. In this livelihood arts the women use
recyclable products which helps conserve our natural resources. We want
our impact to be powerful, we want to give women a chance to show their
skills and we want to have a stand in saving the environment.
