A multitude of things have piqued my interest in finance.

In today’s world, financial experts play a critical role in determining the global economy’s
future path. The same is also evidenced by the various bouts of a financial crisis that we on-
and-off witness globally, throughout which financial experts have stood the test of time.

After thoroughly evaluating my future ambitions of entering the corporate realm as a Finance
Expert, a master’s degree in finance seems to be the wisest decision, now that I am near the
end of my undergraduate course. I look forward to working in this sector on a global scale.
Furthermore, a firm grasp of financial literacy and an unwavering interest in the subject has
precisely encouraged me to seek postgraduate erudition by opting for the course of MSc in
Accounting & Finance at your esteemed institution.

I come from a family of highly driven individuals who are all experts in their respective
fields. Being amongst such ambitious people has instilled me in the qualities of perseverance
and has aided me in imbibing a single-minded attitude towards success. “Whatever you set
your mind to, you will achieve it if you work hard enough,” my mother always says. The
words helped me stay focused on my goal of honing my finance skills from day one. It started
with opting for the subjects of Financial and Performance Management during my
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) professional course. This was the
first step towards building a strong pedagogic foundation that has aided my growth to date.

My college life has been nothing short of a complete transition. I am currently pursuing an
undergraduate course in Bachelor of Commerce from the revered University of Mumbai. To
not limit my exposure purely to the core subjects of this course, I have also opted Association
of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The confluence of the exposure that I have
gained through these programs has provided me with a solid foundation of knowledge in
financial analysis, Investing, Micro-and Macroeconomics, Derivatives, and Risk
management. I have also had the option to attend classes in export marketing,
management and other business disciplines.

When it comes to financial literacy and its faultless execution, India, as a developing country,
is still gaining adroitness at it. Due to the limited exposure here, I have opted to pursue my
master’s degree in your nation, which has the most up-to-date curriculum and can educate me
on the latest global trends and add unparalleled value to my profile.

Scholastic programs that are developed to imbibe in students the best possible knowledge of
their fields and help students advance in their careers, make the UK an ideal destination to
pursue higher studies. A safe and welcoming intellectual environment would make my
academic journey more enriching as it’d help me gain distinction in my chosen subject and

To advance my profession in the right direction, I need to gain more in-depth knowledge of

applications, along with gaining practical expertise in financial analysis. A Master’s Degree

The rich are becoming richer, and the wealth of a country is generally concentrated with
only 20% of people and the same is the case of companies. These are some statements
which I always heard as a child from my father. I always felt fascinated with money and
wanted to know how it can do the wonder of increasing on its own. By the time I reached
junior college, I understood the logic behind money making money and developed a desire
to understand the nuances of the field.
I completed my 10th from International Indian School Riyadh in the Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE) board. I had commerce as a subject in my final school year
which arose my interest in the commercial field and that is the reason why I took commerce
in my higher secondary education and later did under graduation in Commerce. During
these times I got to study different aspects of finance and understood trade and investment
to realize the depth and truthfulness of all the statements I heard in my childhood.
Business management not only taught me trade, marketing, finance, investment, it also
showed me the vast area of businesses where a company is like a small world that requires
good management to be profitable. Trading, advertising, Brand management, online
presence are a very few areas that require to be managed skilfully to run a business
company successfully and a good marketing comes at the core of all.
This brewed a desire to do my master's in accounting and finance from a world-renowned
institution, where the study is done outside the classroom to get real-life training and
exposure to situations that are required to be faced after classroom studies. Some of the
good and prestigious institutions in my country have very limited seats and the quota
system does not allow easy and timely admissions. Keeping in mind the expenditure in
United Kingdom. I opted for my MACCFIN from UK, as the expenditure do a MACCFIN was
almost same as my home country and it is world’s most sought-after study abroad
destination.
The research into various university’ curricula ended at _____ UNIVERSITY as the subject
matter and curriculum included various aspects of management tools, which I was longing
to study. Through this program, I will learn about the global markets, the impact of
marketing in companies expanding globally and its effect on the countries’ GDP. The ways
to maximize profits after minimizing risks through correct marketing channels,
Entrepreneurial skills required to manage a company, Digital marketing and its modern-
day role are few examples in the curriculum, that will provide me the much-required
knowledge in both the classroom and outside the classroom setting as the university, has
short term internships inbuilt in the Master’s program. In addition, the location and
infrastructure of the _____ campus is well connected and in the city centre which increases
various opportunities.
After some research to about the admissions and intakes at institution in United Kingdom, I
found out that IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a mandatory
requirement for applying at the university and so after that I appeared and cleared my IELTS
with an overall band of 7.5.
I would like to be a country head for Finance or a similar role in a multinational company to
gain more experience and put the knowledge to practice before I would like to step into the
entrepreneurial zone to do a fresh start-up. I have basic knowledge of the subject and
possess good communication and analytical skills. I have always been very passionate about
business especially in the field of marketing and management.
With a Master’s Degree in Accounting & Finance (MACCFIN), I shall be able to get the expert
knowledge in the area that will enable me to fulfil my dreams.

“Life has endless possibilities”. I believe this also holds true in the field of Finance. Finance is now
used in almost every walk of life and all around the world. Finance and technological advances have
significantly contributed to the growth of developing countries like India. I have experienced
improvements that technology has brought across all sections of society in India in areas such as
medical sciences, agriculture, communications and delivering social benefits. Since my own lifetime
has essentially coincided with the rise of the modern finance industry, I can sense that there are still
tremendous developments to come in this field. I find this ever-increasing application of finance in
our lives fascinating and full of opportunities.

I am very fortunate to come from a family that holds learning and education in very high regard and
they have supported and encouraged my every step of the way in my educational journey. My father
is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and my mother is a teacher. They have always encouraged me to
have my interest up to the mark. I have always been interested in finance and had a keen desire to
identify how things work. This journey began with learning about finance in high school, trying to
understand how easy life can be with the use of finance. I continued digging deeper into the same
field of study as a part of my Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Mumbai in 2019.
During my three years’ undergraduate degree, I undertook courses in Financial Accounting and
Financial Management, Mathematics and Statistics, Business Law and Auditing and Taxation, Cost
Accounting and Business Economics, Advertising and Export Marketing.

When deciding on the country for a good education, the most logical destination for my masters I
could make was ‘United Kingdom’, a country which stands atop of educational competency as well
as, being well-known for its student friendly legislature and academic proficiency. Brilliant Students
from all over the world choose United Kingdom as their best option for study abroad and hence,
studying overseas in United Kingdom will give me not only a greater range of professional skills, but
also a much broader, more international perspective with some valuable gains like improvising on
communication and better understanding of fellow colleagues, besides receiving an opportunity to
explore a new ethnic society.

I have also provided my English Proficiency test (IELTS) and secured an overall score of 7.5 and no
band less than 6.5.

Right from primary school to secondary, only one remark that teachers say about me is,
“Ghumesh is a very talkative student”. Then moving to my high school and graduate college,
teachers have just been talking about my friendship with every class student, whether it is a
pre-primary or a senior, and how I do my best to maintain every friendship of mine. The
faith and trust my teachers portray on me helps and motivates me to believe that I can
achieve great endeavors in life. Thus, I have decided to travel and take my first big leap
towards prosperity and success. I am excited to take the leap of faith. Through the time I’ve
spent, I have come to a conclusion that my interest and passion has intersected to form
what is now called “Accounting & Finance”. The fact that I am empathetic towards people
and how I better understand them lead to believe that my state of mind is in sync with the
core principles and qualities of a Managerial profession.
We are a family of diverse occupation. My mother, a dedicated housewife has always
motivated me in every stage. She is the lady who is responsible behind every success in my
life. There is just one statement that she repeats all her life, “Ghumesh, I don’t want you to
spend your life at home between four walls, I want you to live your dreams and be
independent in life, I want you to learn and keep growing every minute, every second of
your life”. My sister is in 12th grade, studying in Mumbai. Being a role model for my younger
sister, hope for my father and a dreamcatcher for my mother has made me a responsible
human being.
During the initial years of my college, pursuing Bachelors in Commerce, team building and
creative thinking was one of the most important things that I learnt. I have also participated
in Marathons which helped me to contribute towards some social work.
As this course is ending this March, I am planning to pursue my Masters in Accounting &
Finance, which indeed is a vast field where I can gain more knowledge about Finance. I did
my Bachelors due to my interest and craving in topics related to financial accounting and
management. I was one who did his high school in Riyadh and went on with a degree course
of my interest. While pursuing Bachelors in Mumbai, I was staying with my family and was
able to witness my father working really hard all alone. I want to study in United Kingdom as
it’s been the pioneer in the field of Accounting & Finance, gives Global Exposure and has a
large diaspora of international students. I aspire to study in your esteem University because
of its outstanding academic reputation and excellent research. The mandatory modules will
equip me with a solid grounding for development.
My love to explore new places and meet new people has given me the confidence to pursue
my studies abroad. I earnestly look forward to my studies in UK and expect it to be an

I have been a multifaceted person as far back as I can remember. The biggest instance of this
is that I have completed Under graduation in Bachelors of Commerce from the University of
Mumbai and ACCA from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. I wish to enhance
my academic achievements at your prestigious university.

As far as my motivation and aspirations in life are concerned, since my early childhood, I
have been interested in spreading my wings in all directions and emerge as a well-rounded
personality. Apart from excelling in academics, I pursued diverse interests and activities from
thrilling adventure sport activities to exhilarating outdoor sports.

For as long as I can remember, it has not satisfied me with the knowledge I possess.
Economics touches almost every aspect of our life, and like life is constantly developing to
keep up with the same societal trends to which we try so hard to conform. My wish to study
Accounting & Finance stems from a need to overcome the inequities of society by enabling
the Accounting to keep up with the modern fast-paced society, something that can only be
achieved by a better understanding of the foundation of the Finance that govern us. I strive to
achieve challenging goals that require considerable focused application of mind, and personal
reflection such as reaching national level stage in Abacus (Mental Mathematics) and Table
Tennis. Studying Accounting & Finance at the graduate level refines a student’s
understanding and method of thinking, which I think will better serve me in my professional
public policy-oriented career.

The goal of studying MSc in Accounting & Finance is to provide valuable inputs which
affect legal system through improved organizational efficiencies; to support decision making
and business solutions; to achieve growth in global reach; and to gain strategic advantage.
Through my academic experiences, I have found that, in order to further increase myself as
an asset to the industry, I need to pursue my career in accounting & Finance.
