I. Background Information for Learner
Preparing a Report on Room Count and Rooms Revenue is a crucial role of the Night Clerk. These reports serve as
a sound basis for room allocation and for making sales audit. The night report shows a summary of rooms that are
occupied, blocked for arrival, on house use, out of order and vacant. The reports are both crucial in the conduct of night
audit, wherein the night auditor perform a thorough review of all financial activities of the hotel that has taken place
within the day.
It is important that the Reports on Room Count and Rooms Revenue contain the accurate figures, otherwise the
Front Office will experience trouble in assigning rooms to guests as well as in coming up with the night audit report.
