Statement Of Purpose
I am Garvit Verma, from Zirakpur Punjab and I have done my matriculation
from CBSE with 71% in 2019. I scored 78% in my higher secondary
certificate from CBSE. I have an IELTS score of 7.5 bands.
I am pleased to announce that I have secured admission in Thompson Rivers
University, Kamloops, British Columbia. The reason why I opted for this
program is because I have always been intrigued by corporate finance. Apart
from being keenly interested in this subject I have also had a chance to
observe this closely because one of my parents is an entrepreneur and
corporate finance is a core area of dealing. So I have decided to take it a
step further and gain a sound base by getting a professional qualification.
Another reason for choosing this particular program from the University is
that it has an international exchange field study which offers extensive
exposure to a graduate student. The field study would help me gain a rich
experience in this field and give me an extra edge.
Overseas studies have always enabled a student to look at things from a
global perspective. Leading financial institutions prefer candidates with prior
specialized experience. That is why studying at an international campus
which has an extensive network offer the best opportunities to students.
My short term goal is to get a job in the field of finance. I wish to work in a
company where I could enrich myself further in Corporate Finance. To
successfully learn how a company is funded and through what channels it
can be invested and retained, would help me enrich my present knowledge.
In the long term, I would like to become an entrepreneur, and here also
understanding of finance is critical as it forms the core of every enterprise.
Right now, India is experiencing a boom in various sectors, including
finance. Several fintech companies have been seeing phenomenal boom.
Equipped with a MBA and majoring in finance will help me get a leverage
over other professionals and I would be able to guide my team in a better
way
