Introduction

Free legal aid is the provision of free legal service in civil and criminal matter for
those poor and marginalized people who cannot afford the service of a lawyer
for the conduct of the case or a legal proceedings in any court, tribunal or
authority.

Legal service include providing free legal aid to those weaker sections of the
society who fail within the purview of section 12 of legal service authority act
1987

The satisfaction and euphoria that accompany the successful completion of this internship would be

V.V pura college of law. The satisfaction and publication that accompany the successful completion of
this project would be incomplete without the mention the mention of our respected sir Mr.

served as a beacon of light and rewarded our effort with success. We thank them whole heartedly for

Our team consisting of 21 members from VV pura College of law stared our
journey of internship under DLSA, Bengaluru Rural District from 16th June 2022.

LEARNINGS AND EXPERIENCES

INTORDUCTION:-
DLSA provides free and competent legal aids in the nature of counselling and legal advice
as well as free legal service in the conduct of cases before court and tribunals.
Spreads legal awareness among the public and beneficiaries of social legislation and the
public at large on various issues of legal importance.
Special endeavor is made for rendering free legal aid to under trial prisoners whose cases
are pending in courts

Provides free legal aid services to:


A member of schedule cast or schedule tribe
A women or a child
If a person is in custody i.e a person up to the age of 18 years in protective home or a
mentally ill,person psychiatric hospital.
A person with an annual income of less than 75.000/-

On the date of 16th June 2022 to 13th July 2022 at civil court Bengaluru under DLSA under
the guidance of registrar we had overview of different aspects of the functioning of the
courts, various activities performed by different departments.

17th June 2022 Every day morning till afternoon over internship period we visit
New annex building and different pending branches CCH46 and 57 and 70 pending
46&57court hall lokadath and courts through the directions from registrar office at city civil
Court Bengaluru.

At time of our internship we got great opportunity to be part of the lokdalat conducted on
25th June 2022. The disposal of pre litigation cases through virtual and physical mode in the
lokdalat.

Under physical mode taken up bank recovery case settled one RIT2 cases settled one in
bank matter cases.

In CCH- 63 total number of cases refered to LOK Adalath -26. 2 Criminal appeal and civil
suit got settled.
29th June 2022 to 1st July 2022 I learnt about record keeping and retention policy of the
records at record rooms.

The paper which is included in the file A, if the case were the class first shall be placed in
order prescribed for class A and also included file B and file C shall be put at last
File A shall contain :-
a) Table of contents
b) Order sheet
c) When question as to the construction

File B shall contain all other papers.


The files be marked A and B as in the court of first instance according to the nature of the
suit
or case .

civil rule of practices rule 202 destroyed files A file permanent files, B 6 years , C 3 years ,
Criminal rules of practices -CRL-Misc: 3 years and later disposed , S.C-20 years later

Every record of a court of session shall consist two files to be styled and marked
Respectively file A and file B
File A shall contain the following papers which shall be arranged in the following order
Title page , table of contents , order sheet, the charge and the plea of the accused
File B shall contain title page ,table of contents , all papers not included in file A

6th June 2022 we went to chief metropolitan court near corporation circle there are
observation cases C.C.NO 1020/19 – Prathima v/s Mulani 2088/17-sumithra bai,14590/18-
,23737/19- HSR layout PS v/s denash .some cases were disposed.
7th July we had opportunity to visit family court at double road where we witnessed court
proceeding at the court of priniciple Judge. At family court takes all the precautions and
mindful to save the institution of the marriage and the future of the children if any. Many
cases were referred to conciliation.
