FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

 Plans, organizes, directs and monitors the implementation of the Department’s Programs, Projects and Activities
(PPAs) in the provinces/highly urbanized city;
 Manages all personnel, properties, funds and records within the area of responsibility;
 Undertakes staff development programs;
 Develops, formulates, and conducts training programs for provincial, municipal and barangay officials;
 Strengthens the viability of Local Government Councils, POCs, and ABCs;
 Maintains linkages with the Leagues of municipal/city mayor/s, municipal/city vice-mayor/s, Sanggunian members
and other organizations;
 Directs studies, operational researches and evaluation of local government administration;
 Recommends/proposes policies for adoption by the Department or for legislative enactment;
 Formulates and administers plans, strategies, techniques and approaches;
 Adopts methods and techniques in establishing partnership between the national and local government units as
well as the NGOs on matters related to peace and order;
 Establishes and maintains a data on local government;
 Performs other duties as may be assigned by the competent authorities.
