SUBJECT: OVERWRITING TEMPORARY FIRMWARE
GENERAL:
This bulletin is to announce an improvement to the method of Overwriting Temporary Firmware.
Conventionally, Package_01 (Ref. D0BJ/D0BK - 019 OVERWRITE TEMPORARY/CUSTOMIZED
FIRMWARE) is necessary to overwrite Temporary Firmware (ex. D0BM1234A_LRC567). After the latest
version to be released in Sept. 2020, Package(ALL) can overwrite some Temporary Firmware.
From Ver. 3.50 or later, the Temporary Firmware numbers that can be overwritten are mentioned in the
Modification history in Firmware Release notice, as shown below.
Product Code Region Firmware name Version ETA

Tech Service Bulletin No. D0BJ/D0BK - 037
This function will be applied to all package update methods (SD card, ARFU, RFU, SFU, ARMS,
       Application Site, and others).
Especially, please note that Temporary Firmware that was installed to a device in the field will be
overwritten automatically by ARFU (if enabled) when package firmware that can overwrite the
       Temporary Firmware is released.
Basically, a Temporary Firmware number is added to the target of the overwrite function when a bug
fix that was provided as Temporary Firmware is applied to the standard firmware. However, some
Temporary Firmware numbers might not be added to the target even though they are applied to the
standard firmware. Please refer to the Temporary Firmware numbers that can be overwritten in
<Overwritten Temporary Firmware> on the Firmware Release notice.
The package update sequence is skipped and no firmware (regardless of Standard or Temporary)
will be updated unless all the installed Temporary Firmware numbers are included in the overwrite
target if multiple Temporary Firmware is installed to a device. This function works only when all the
installed Temporary Firmware numbers are the target of the overwrite.
Customized firmware (ex. DB0M1234A_CS123) might be added to the target of the overwrite
function when the customization is applied to the Standard firmware.
There is no way to restore the Temporary Firmware overwritten by this function except for
       reinstalling the Temporary Firmware.
