COMMUNITY ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN DESIGN
PROJECT TITLE: AN URBAN REVITALIZATION

I. PROBLEM STATEMENT/ RATIONALE


The greatest contribution of Architecture in the community or any human
settlements is when in its decaying condition its role should not only be able to beautify
its surrounding aesthetically acceptable but to also detach the people’s lives from their
routinely activities doing what they have been doing yet accomplishing the same,
neglecting the opportunity to develop and contribute vitality to the community.
The objective of this study aims to introduce a challenge to the stakeholders of
development including the government to upgrade the community holistically while
developing a system for them to increase its revenue or local income. While the
Architects on the other hand would be able to introduce the three-dimensional concept
that will address to answer the needs of the community and make it Equitable, beautiful,
performative and sustainable. Thus eventually lead to urban revitalization.

II. GROUND FLOOR/ SPATIAL REQUIREMENT/ COMPONENTS OF DEVELOPMENT

A. FOOD HUBS and PARKS or OPEN SPACES


- Concession Areas (for food concessionaires at least 6 to 10 units)
- Common Dining Area (for at least 100-200)
- Common Dishwashing Area
- Toilets
- Garbage Disposal Area
- Water Stations

B. BUILDINGS
- Clustered
- Circulation Alleys/ corridors and Walkways

C. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Stairs
● Emergency Exits
● Tricycle Parking/ Loading and Unloading Areas
● Car Parking Areas
● *PNP Station and
● “Provide a space for Fire Department (Fire Truck)
