To the court to the defendant Alberto Mario Garcia.
I am submitting The information for restitution of my case. But first I would like to tell the court how this
accident has affected me. First off let me tell you that I am a school bus driver so I need other streams of
income so that I can survive on what I make being a school bus driver I did this by driving Uber eats
which is what I was doing on that fateful morning of January 23, 2022 when my life was turned upside
down and shook. I did not have the luxury of taking off work to recover from the accident, yes I do know
that I could get reimbursed for the time off but that was not going to help me at that time I needed to
work through the pain so that my Wife and I could survive, and I did that until June 8 when I had my
neck surgery. I did lose around two weeks of pay for my school bus drive position with First Student, But
more significantly I have not been able to work my secondary job with Uber since that night creating a
financial hardship that I have been fighting ever since. One of the main reasons I was Ubering late that
night was because there was a contest so that I could earn extra money that I needed so that I could pay
my February‘s rent because I was going to be short, well I was not able to come up with the money to
pay the rent on my own but my church was able to step up and help me with that they have been
helping on and off through this entire time. I have been late on just about every bill. My car was totaled
so I had to come up with another car quickly I did not have a down payment for it so I ended up getting a
car with no down payment that also raised by monthly payments by about $45 or so I was not able to
buy a car that was comparable to the one that I lost The one that I lost had all wheel drive which was
perfect for the weather in the Pacific Northwest so that I can drive in the snowy weather. My new car is
also shorter than my GMC Terrain that I lost making it almost impossible to get into and out of the car
because of my injuries 15 to 20 times a night so I have mist out on at least 8 months of wedges from
Uber. I have a close estimate of what I would have received for those eight months also I have given you
an estimate of the 2 weeks that I missed out for First Student, one of my bills that I am behind is my car
payment which I have it closed a photo of my account showing how much I am behind. This whole affair
has also ruined what little credit We have. That is only the monetary side of it there has been some
psychological feedback to this entire affair, every now and then when I’m just sitting in my car I still feel
like something has just hit me from behind and me flying all over the place inside the car that is a very
difficult thing to have to relive, I will have to live with that the rest of my life because this was a very
traumatic accident to have to live through. Also the stress of having to deal with financial situations that
I might not have had if I had not been through this accident. I would like to ask the court to consider the
extreme pain and psychological portion of this when considering the restitution in this case. I would like
to thank the court for its consideration in this case.
Good evening Matt, here is the restitution information that they asked for. I have also enclosed a word
document with a little statement from me please look it over if you need to make changes that’s great
but I would like the court to understand a little bit of where I’m coming from. I have enclosed The month
of January 2022 Uber earning report, included is my pay stubs with what I should have made for the
two weeks that I missed of work because of my surgery. I also included a photo of my late car payment
and two Screenshots of the bath that I did for the eight months for Uber and the two weeks for First
Student, please take a look at them and let me know what you think. Call me with any questions. I would
be available after 10 AM tomorrow morning I will go back to work at 12:15 PM.
