Chapter 1: About PG LAB
The personal growth laboratory PG Lab is a unique concept designed to deepen self-
understanding and improve intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships. The objectives
of the PG Lab are achieved through a 3-day workshop at the beginning of Semester I.
The pedagogy was carefully focused on creating self-awareness through setting a
personal agenda, conducting MBTI psychometric assessment and a practical session on
Johari window analysis for all participants. The workshop enables team building and
team effectiveness through experiential learning by engaging participants through
extrinsic learning.
Chapter 2 : Exercise conducted in the PG LAB

2.1 Setting up Personal Agenda

First session of our PG LAB was conducted by Dr. Pallavi Joshi Kapooria Ma’am, in the
first session we were taught about our strength and weaknesses and were asked to fill a
google form which had various questions regarding us and we were given about half an hour
to fill the form. The questions in the form had questions regarding us which were important
for our own evaluation. This activity was mainly focused on individual’s own realisation of
strengths and weaknesses and the challenges faced.

By this activity we came to know about our weaknesses so that we could work and improve
them, and this self questioning activity helped us in understanding ourselves better.

As we had this self evaluation test for the first time so there were some challenges faced,
such as lack of confidence before giving the answer and even not knowing some basic facts
about ourselves.
2.2 Ice Breaking Activity

We were divided in a group of 9 random students and this group was same for the rest three
days. This was the first group activity in which we were given various currency notes and
we had to introduce ourselves in front of the rest of the team members and had to present
ourselves in a creative way and the winner would have the rest of the currency. The main
purpose of this activity was to introduce ourselves in front of others and remove the
hesitation faced while speaking in front of unknown people.

In this activity everyone introduced themselves and we got to know each other and everyone
shared some interesting facts about themselves. Our confidence was also improved as we
heard and spoke in front of others
2.3 Word Making Activity

This was an activity which was to be performed individually and in group. For this activity
we were given a word and with the help of the letters of the word we had to make new
meaningful words. For the first 10 minutes we had to make the words individually and then
for the other 10 minutes we had to make the words in groups and then we wrote the words
formed by us on a sheet and submitted it. The purpose of this activity was to make us
understand the importance of group work and the difference in the efficiency while doing
the work individually and while doing the work in a group.
2.4 Caterpillar Walk
This was a group activity was to be performed in the atrium of our college. In this activity
feets of all the team members were tied to each other and by making proper coordination we
had to move from one side of the atrium to another and then back to the starting point, this
caterpillar walk was in a form race where we had to compete with other teams and had to be
fast enough to reach the end before the other teams. This activity created a competitive
environment among the teams and every team focused on winning the task.
2.5 Psychometric Assessment – MBTI
This was the assessment which was conducted by Dr. Gunjan Anand Ma’am, in this
assessment we were asked to give a 16 personality test. In this test we were asked some
questions about us, our behaviour, our reaction to things, and some questions of same kind.
The purpose was to generate a personality report of the students based on these questions
and that report showed us report our personality type and the result was explained to us and
the suggestions were provided and also these reports didn’t show the exact result.
2.6 Story Chain Activity
This was a group activity in which we were given a starting phase of the story and one by
one we had to add a line and make a meaningful story and also we had to keep the end open
so that the other team member can continue the story from where the first person left it. The
purpose of this activity was to encourage teamwork and coordination among the teammates
2.7 Hoola Loop Activity
