Autotronic 5 - Dyna-6 - Error Codes: TR4: Theoretical Forward Speed Sensor

This document provides information about the theoretical forward speed sensor (TR4) on an Autotronic 5 - Dyna-6 system, including its location, pin connections, signals, and possible error codes. The sensor is an inductive sensor located above the differential ring gear. It outputs a resistance of 450 ohms when stopped and an alternating voltage when the ring gear is rotating. The sensor can be adjusted by loosening the counter-nut and unscrewing it 3/4 of a turn from fully screwed in. Possible error codes include T1 15 for no detected speed and T1 26 for a difference between intermediate and forward speed sensors. The recommended solutions are to check sensor status, resistance, connections, and wiring or the

TR4: Theoretical forward speed sensor

TR4
Description
Location: above the differential ring gear (Fig. 27)
Inductive sensor.

- Pin 1: Signal
- Pin 2: Earth
TR10
Signals:
Resistance when stopped: 450 Ohms +/- 20
Alternating voltage when the ring gear is rotating

To adjust the air gap:

- Apply a small amount of Loctite 5922 to the Fig. 27
threads
- Fully screw in the sensor against the gear
- Unscrew the sensor by ¾ of a turn
- Tighten the counter-nut to approximately 6 Nm
