In the past, when students earned a university degree, they tended to study in their home

country. Today, they have more opportunities to study abroad. What are the advantages and
disadvantages of this development? Let me discuss the above in this essay.

The main advantage of studying abroad is having the opportunity to experience different
styles of education. It is a fact that nowadays education abroad is better than at home.
That's why, by enrolling in a study abroad program, you'll have the opportunity to see a side
of your major that you may not have been exposed to at home. The second advantage is to
practice your foreign language ability. One of the main attractions of studying abroad is the
opportunity to learn a foreign language. Studying abroad allows you to live in an environment
of communication in a new language. In addition to the substantial language practice, you'll
get in everyday life, abroad university will likely offer language courses to provide you with
more formal education. The third advantage is that you have the opportunity for personal
growth. You may find that studying abroad really helps you learn independence. Being in a
new place can be overwhelming at times, which tests your ability to adapt to different
situations and problem-solving.

But studying abroad is not always easy. The main disadvantage of being a student abroad is
that you are alone. Our society is becoming more and more connected thanks to technology,
you can stay in touch more easily with your family and friends. But that doesn't mean it's
easier to study abroad in a foreign country. Studying abroad is hard because everything is
new and you don't have loved ones by your side. Especially in the beginning, you may feel
sad and homesick. Sometimes, you can feel lonely in your new country and that is very
difficult. Another major disadvantage of studying abroad is the cost. Studying abroad can be
expensive. The cost of studying abroad will depend on your major, the university, and the
country or city you choose. Remember that many countries do not allow foreign students to
work, so you need to have enough money before your study abroad semester. Ask yourself
if you can afford to study abroad.

Studying abroad has many advantages, but there are also some disadvantages of studying
abroad and you should be aware of them! Studying abroad is not always easy, but if you
overcome the challenges and solve those problems, then studying abroad is a good choice
to develop yourself.
