Crave SOLO Black Forest Studio

This document provides information about solo game modes in the card game Crave. It describes two solo modes: 1. Solo Mode v1 pits the player against an AI opponent with set rules for how the AI builds its deck and strategy. 2. Solo Mode v2 changes some starting stats and rules, such as combining the AI's private cards and market into one draw deck. It also scales up the number of cards the AI can play each turn.

Special thanks to Marco Corbella, aka Gozilla2121 for help with Solo Modes in Crave.

• To win, reduce your Opponent’s health to zero before they reduce your health to zero.
• Your opponent = AI (Artificial Intelligence)
• Gameplay is the same as far as the deck building battle. You’ll use cards, reshuffle the discard pile when out of
cards, and continue play.
• If the AI has Items to attach, attach those first to the AI’s Sentinels, and then their Sentries, and in order from
highest shield to lowest shield.
• Opponent always attacks your Sentinels and Sentries before attacking you directly, unless it would give them a
victory near the game’ end.
• Opponent does not replace cards in a market when given an option to.

SOLO MODE v1

• AI starts with 65 health, and you will start with 60 health.

• Setup is the same as a multi-player game, with the exception of AI showing only 2 of their private market at a
time (instead of 4, as in a multi-player game).
• AI must use all influence available to purchase card with largest influence possible. If any remaining influence
after the first purchase, AI will purchase the card with the next high influence, and so on.
• In case of a tie among influence cost in available cards, AI will purchase a card from their private market before
the public market.
• In case of a tie in influence cost among cards in a common or private market, AI will choose the card furthest
from the draw pile.
• After purchasing any card, replace the purchased card with a new card from that market by moving all
remaining cards one position away from the draw deck, placing the new market card nearest to its draw deck.
• If AI can trash a card, they will trash a plant (most dangerous) followed by the lowest valued starting cards
(Prepare, then Hunt).

SOLO MODE v2

• You will always go first in the game, and the AI will go second. You may begin by drawing 5 cards instead of 4.
• You start with 65 health, and your Opponent starts with 55 health.
• Setup is normal (like in a multiplayer game) except the AI Opponent starting cards and private market cards are
shuffled together to form only one private draw deck for the AI. The AI will not have a “private” market, as all
cards begin in their draw pile. There is still a common market, and you do have a private market for yourself.
• On the AI turn, the AI freely draws cards from its draw deck and freely acquires one card from the public market
(the furthest from the draw deck). Acquired cards (from the common market) are added to the discard pile of the
AI as normal, unless “Surge” would put the card into play immediately.
• For the AI, Influence is ignored as far as it concerns obtaining cards.
• When the furthest card from the common market is acquired by either party, all remaining cards are moved one
position away from the draw deck to make room for the new card to be placed from the common market draw
deck.
• You take your turns as normal.
• The AI will always freely acquire one card from the public market on each turn. When beginning the game, the
AI will play a reduced number of cards to scale up into the game.
o For turn 1, the AI plays 2 cards from its draw deck, and cannot acquire a common market card above the
value of 5.
o For turn 2, the AI plays 3 cards from its draw deck, and cannot acquire a common market card above the
value of 6.
o For turn 3, the AI plays 4 cards from its draw deck, and cannot acquire a common market card above the
value of 7.
o For turn 4 and all remaining turns, the AI plays 5 cards from its draw deck.
o For turn 4, the AI cannot acquire a common market card above the value of 8.
o For turn 5 and ongoing, the AI can acquire a card of any value.
• When the AI is acquiring free cards, it may acquire a common market card freely, as long as it meets the value
restriction requirements for that turn early in the game. If a card’s value is too excessive, then the AI simply
acquired the next closest card until it is not restricted from acquiring it.
• When your Opponent reveals its own Plants (for example, your Vampire Opponent reveals Nightshade), then
that plant is added to your (Vampire Hunter) discard pile. Your Opponent is acquiring the card at that point and
following the directions on the Plant card.
• This Solo version takes a little more discretion at knowing what your Opponent would want to do, so use your
best judgement when it comes to cards like “Hypnotize” for example. Make the best decision you can at the
present time, and continue with the game.
• This Solo version is difficult with more variability. When you win, you crushed it.
