The goals are for the patient to gain knowledge of family planning methods through nursing intervention and avoid unwanted pregnancies through contraception. The nursing interventions include establishing rapport with the family, assessing their understanding of family planning, explaining the importance of family planning, discussing available methods and their advantages/disadvantages, and referring them to health centers for programs and consultations on family planning and contraception.
