P17A0

This document provides information about diagnostic trouble code P17A0, which indicates an open circuit in the automatic disconnecting differential (ADD) shift motor control circuit. The trouble code is set if the circuit is open while switching between high-2 and high-4 gear ratios. Potential causes include issues with the wire harness, connectors, 4-wheel drive control ECU, or ADD actuator assembly. The provided procedure checks the resistance of wires between the ECU and actuator connectors, and then checks the internal resistance of the actuator assembly if the wires test okay.
