What is face-to-face communication?
Face-to-face communication is the distinction of being able to see the other party or parties in
a conversation. It allows for a better exchange of information since both speaker and listener can
see and interpret body language and facial expressions.
1. What is the role of words in face-to-face communication?
It allows you to convey the appropriate message when having communications, choosing
proper words allows you to have a better flow of the communication.
2. When would you use face to face communication?
For anything involving a critical conversation or emotional issue, doing it in person is
better, also when having a professional conversation with someone like business related
conversations it is proper to have a face-to-face conversation.

1. What is impersonal communication?
∙ one-way communication process
∙ used to give basic information such as company policies, instructions or facts
Impersonal communication involves communicating with people such a sales clerks and servers,
and you have no history or future with them. Written, spoken and unspoken elements of
communication to which people assign meaning.
2. What is interpersonal communication?
∙ occurs when people involved talk and listen (dialogue)
Interpersonal communication refers to the entire process and practice of exchanging ideas,
information, and even emotional experiences that can be shared between people.
∙ for true communication to take place:
o message must be understood by person receiving information in same way the sender intended
o feedback is the way to make sure message has been understood
