Diplomacy

Diplomacy is defined as influencing foreign governments through dialogue and negotiation rather than war or violence. It is one of the most visible aspects of international cooperation and diplomats represent their countries even when delivering difficult messages. While diplomacy helps implement a country's foreign policy, it differs in that discussions are meant to remain confidential. The practice of diplomacy has evolved over centuries, becoming more formalized over time with the establishment of international laws regarding diplomatic immunity and relations between states. Modern diplomacy faces new challenges like reduced diplomatic norms and a shift to more direct digital and public communications between leaders, requiring diplomats to navigate complex geopolitical and technological issues.
