PART I: PALITAW
Palitaw is a small, flat, sweet rice cake eaten in the Philippines. They
are made from galapong - washed, soaked, and ground malagkit.
The five
steps/procedure to make a Palitaw
Step 1: Pour 1 and 1/2 cup of Glutinous rice flour in a large mixing bowl.
Gradually add 3/4 cup of water while mixing.
Step 2: Knead the dough. Scoop a portion of the dough and roll into a ball.
Flatten the ball dough. Repeat procedure 4 until all the mixture are used.
Step 3: Boil 1 liter of water. Drop the dough into the boiling water. Let it
cook until it floats. Place in a plate then set aside.
Step 4: In a pan toast 1/8 cup of sesame seeds by continuous stirring. in a
plate mix 1/2 cup of shredded coconut, 1/3 cup of white sugar and the
toasted sesame seeds. Mix until all ingredients are blended well.
Step 5: Coat the dough with the coconut mixture. Transfer on a serving plate.
