Kalat West

2D seismic data from four surveys covering a total of 90.653 km was acquired in 2011 within and around the Kalat West Block by PPL, but no 3D seismic or wells exist in the block. Surface elevations in the block range from 1750-2250m AMSL based on SRTM data, and the area shows tectonic disturbance due to its proximity to a collision zone. Elevation profiles in different parts of the block show elevations varying in each direction from west to east. Review of limited neighboring seismic data indicates structural prospects and thrust faulting exist which could be further validated with new seismic acquisition.

VINTANGE SEISMIC DATA

In kalat west Block 90.653 km inside & outside 2D seismic data is available (Table. No.)
which was acquired by PPL 2011. No 3D seismic data exists in the block and no well
has yet been drilled inside the block.

ELEVATION MODEL OF KALAT WEST BLOCK

On the basis of SRTM data, Surface elevations in kalat west Block range from 1750m
AMSL to 2250m AMSL (shown in Elevation Map Fig. No-). Surface features were
observed on SRTM data. Tectonically it is the highly disturbed area as the kalat west
lies very close to the collision zone

Elevation Profile Line 1(Northern Part)

The line holds minimum elevation of 1875m in his western part attain maximum
elevation 2250m as we move toward 5 km away from the western part and eastern part
holds 2150m elevation .

Elevation Profile Line 2(Northern Part)

The elevation profile line2 lies in the Northern part of Kalat west Block, the direction of
profile line is east to west oriented. The line hold an elevation of 2000m in the western
part and its elevation decreases upto1900m & holds 2750m in the eastern part .
Elevation Profile Line 3 (Central Part)

The elevation profile line3 lies in the Central part of Kalat west Block, the direction of
profile line is east to West oriented. The line hold an elevation of 1975m in the western
part and its elevation decreases upto1800m & holds 2250m in the eastern part .

Elevation Profile Line 4 (Southern Part)

The elevation profile line4 lies in the Southren part of Kalat west Block, the direction of
profile line is east to West oriented. The line hold an elevation of 2375m in the western
part and its elevation decreases upto1820m & holds 2250m in the eastern part .
Elevation Profile Line 5 (North/South)

The elevation profile line 5 lies in the Kalat west Block, the direction of profile line is the
N-E to S-W oriented. The line hold an elevation of 2250m in the western part and its
elevation decreases upto1750m & holds 1875m in the eastern part .

GEOPHYSICAL MODEL

During LMKR seismic data review, it was observed only three lines available of
neighbor block (kalat ,PPl). Data review highlight that the block have three petroleum
play have exist in this region, structurally Kalat plateau bounded with reveres faulting
and anticline structural.

Seismic line PPL11-KLT-10 is east west oriented line covering the length of 15.771 line
km. 2.578 km line passing through eastern side of kalat west block, existence of
structural high bounded by thrust fault laying in surrounding kalat block, where as the
portion of the seismic line lies in the kalat west also shows the high trend which could
be validated by acquiring new seismic data with optimum parameter.
