Dance Performance Rubric Guide

Rating/Score Performance
Excellent  The group mastered the choreography and didn’t make
(40%) any errors
 Facial expression and body language are always used to
expressed and to generate a strong impression to the
audience during the performance
 Shows full understanding of rhythm by staying on beat for
the entire dance
 Demonstrate an excellent choice of dance style
 All members participate in the dance and they are
completely prepared
Good  They group mastered the choreography and make few
(30%) errors
 Facial expression and body language are sometimes used
to generate impression from the audience during the
performance
 Shows understanding of rhythm by staying on beat
throughout the dance
 Demonstrate a good choice of dance style
 All members participate in the dance but not prepared
Fair  The group master the choreography and make many
(20%) errors
 Facial expression and body language are rarely seen
during the performance
 Shows some knowledge about rhythm, that didn’t stay on
beat throughout the dance
 Demonstrate a below average choice of dance style
 Most members participate in the dance but not prepared
Poor  The group did not master the choreography at all
(10%)  Facial expression and body language are not seen during
the performance
 Lack of knowledge about rhythm didn’t stay on beat the
entire dance
 Demonstrate a little knowledge about dance style
 Some members participate in the dance but not prepared
to perform at all
