FDAS
Methodology
1. Conducted orientation and safety measures and regulations in the company premises in
coordination with Facilities Engineer.
2. Preparations of plans, safety gears, zoning strategy and tools and equipment necessary for the
activity with the following:
a. 2 set of copy of FDAS plan for the 3 teams and Smoke detector, alarm bell and FDAS
Panel,
b. Safety harness, helmets, goggles, face masks, safety gloves,
c. Cleaning agents, brushes,
d. Set of screw drivers, pliers,
e. Dry rugs and wipes,
f. Ladder and/or manual lifter
g. Communication radio
h. Fluke multimeter tester
i. Smoke detector tester Spray.
3. Conducted visual inspection for the components of fire detection and alarm system including
and limited to the following:
a. Fire alarm Control Panel,
b. Manual pull
c. Smoke detector,
d. Alarm Bell.
4. Dismantling of the component parts for cleaning. Brushing and application of cleaning agents.
5. Testing and validation of the above components to determine if working properly.
a. Fluke Multi-tester and Clamp meter,
b. Smoke detector tester spray
6. Checking and updating vis-a-vis with the control panel for proper zoning coordination, alarm
and resetting.
7. 100% implementation of safety and function ability of all tested components for compliance to
the Fire Code.
8. Conduct 5S and proper immobilization.
9. Issuance of Preventive Maintenance Report and Certification.

FDAS control Panel inspection and testing, initiating the device,
notification appliance or control relay is detected, the smoke detector,
heat detector, and combination panel, device,
appliance or control relay on the circuit is operate and tested. Based
on the standard regulation and compliance of Fire code.

Performance Execution.
All Smoke detectors Circuits work well the sensitivity and the detection accuracy are in good
condition.
All Manual pull station, components and Safety switch, work well the sensitivity and the detection
accuracy are in good condition.
Check and test the torque of bolted electrical connections as required at specified levels. Perform re -
tightening of connection, bolt and nut.
All light indicators work properly, no busted detected
Findings
1. Fire detection and alarm system in good condition, no sign of heated /or burn, discoloration.
2. The accuracy of detection working properly and all lines tested were functioned.
3. There are 9 Smoke Detector units from the ground floor area, but only 4 units are working, and 5 of
its units are not working properly.
Recommendations
1. Ware house Area, keep it unobstructed and should not be blocked by any material so that it can be
seen quickly and quickly activated in case there is a fire or problem.
2. Additional Smoke detector for ground floor Assy room, Storage room in warehouse and 2nd floor
Gen Manager, Conference room to ensure that all rooms are connected to the fire alarm area and if
there is a problem it can quickly identify the alarms throughout plant.
3. 5 units smoke detector from the warehouse area is not working.
4. Cleaning, testing and Inspection of internal facilities personnel: Quarterly Cleaning, testing and
Inspection of Fire alarm system.
5. Create a monthly inspection, quarterly and annual preventive maintenance of FDAS system.
6. Preventive Maintenance of fire alarms and smoke detectors can help ensure that your fire prevention
systems are ready when needed, for system reliability and also ensures that the fire alarm system
remains compliant.
All inspected components and conducted preventive maintenance were in good working conditions
and properly maintained. The facilities substantially complied with the safety and protection requirements of
the Fire Code of the Philippines and its Implementing Rules and Regulations vis-à-vis with Electronics
Engineering Law (RA 9292) of the Philippines.
