This document discusses why students at Sta. Filomena National High School cut classes. It identifies several key reasons, including alcohol consumption, failing grades, drug addiction, gang involvement, and peer pressure. Students are influenced by their peers to engage in risky behaviors like smoking and drinking to appear cool. Many students at the school are also described as hardheaded and do not consider the potential consequences of their actions, such as jumping the fence to drink alcohol and getting into an accident. The document examines the problem of class cutting at this school from the perspectives of students, teachers, and parents.

research process. Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude for the members' cooperation in
making this English study report interesting as well as for their insightful remarks and suggestions.

We would also like to express our gratitude to our members for contributing to this research report
and cooperating in this way. I also want to express my gratitude to the groups that took part in the
research, even though some of them were adamantly opposed to helping out while others insisted on
continuing to support the leaders' actions.
We would like to thank Mrs. Gretchen Tudlas for her warm heart in supporting our research and
helping us improve our research skills. Without her guidance, we wouldn't be able to produce good
research.
My appreciation for my teacher's patience and the committee chair's useful input is beyond words. In
addition, I could not have made this voyage without the rich knowledge and experience my defense
committee supplied.
I am also appreciative of the editing assistance, late-night feedback sessions, and emotional support
from my classmates and cohort members, especially my members. Also deserving of praise are the
school's librarians, research assistants, and study participants who had an influence and motivated
me.

Last but not least, I must acknowledge my family, particularly my parents, cousins, and friends. Their
confidence in me has sustained my enthusiasm and upbeat attitude throughout this process.

INTRODUCTION

RATIONALE OF THE STUDY

The issue with eliminating classes in JUNIOR HIGH is that the students don't have enough time for
development and growth. Beginning in the convenience of their homes, families, and friends, this
development. As a result, eliminating classes will be the solution to their issues. As a result, problems
may arise for teachers and other staff members due to individual kids. such discomfort for any staff
members and teachers in schools.

We'd like to give you a brief explanation of reducing class. Cutting class is a term that was created to
describe mistakenly missing a class that was required for one's formal education and is a legitimate
justification. Cutting classes is particularly common in public schools in the Philippines since there is
poor security and a high student population, making it difficult to keep track of each student. This
problem is widespread in third-level educational institutions as well, which is why there are no longer
any restrictions on when people can leave the campus or the classroom during a lecture. Three
people are impacted by this issue: parents, students, and teachers. I personally know a large number
of pupils from various schools in Sta. Filomena National High School. who skipped class. The actual
issues start once you skip class.
Despite St. Filomena National High School's best efforts, a significant number of students still choose
to skip class. This article explores the causes of this problem and offers practical solutions that will
help increase student attendance and academic performance.

BACKGROUND
Education institutions provide as a place for connection as well as for mental sacrifice and feedback.
disciplining students for any types of behavior, moral, and social issues they may be experiencing.
The researcher is quite convinced and certain that students don't have enough time for development
and improvement. Beginning in the convenience of their homes and families, this development.
Professors, teachers, and school administrators must deal with all types of difficulties from their
individual students as a result of the school institutions becoming the "cutting classes" for their issues.
All teaching staff are taken into account. Most students are beginning to become curious about their
lives, and this is where they begin to step outside of their comfort zones and explore their Everyone is
aware that this is the point at which they must make their own decisions. Since it is believed that
"going to school is like having a job," students who skip class may also skip their education as well.
This is because they have already paid for their education.
THE PROBLEM

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

If you look more closely at what it takes to perform well in school, you'll see that these are the
same traits that are necessary for success in life. After all, academic performance is a
reflection of your skills, so you need to be compatible, determined, and focused in order to
perform well. Academic success is the first and most important step one will likely take in this
race because it is when one is educated and has a degree. Success has many different
meanings, and each person's definition of success determines how they work towards
achieving it.

To start with, students in Sta. Filomena skips class due to alcohol consumption. Nowadays,
students skip class or scale the fence for this purpose; some of them may even have received
an invitation from friends to go out to a bar outside campus. Cutting classes is how students
spend their schooldays.

The most frequent in our day and age is Failing Grade on booze, where kids skip classes
solely for booze, leap over fences, etc. Other students are drug addicts, or perhaps some of
them belong to a gang. Thus, this is Sta. There is a gang group called "Crips" at Filomena
National High School, and some of them exhibit negative attitudes and peer pressure.

Peer pressure: Their peers persuade them to start smoking and to continue. Smoking, in their
eyes, is a sign of individuality and rebellion. They believe that since everyone else is smoking,
so should they. The tobacco business has employed deft marketing strategies to target teens
in particular and to make them appear as cool and dangerous boys so that they believe other
students will be afraid of them because they smoke, drink alcohol, and are members of gangs.

Many of the students at Sta Filomena National High School are hardheaded, and they simply
don't consider the teachers' reaction if they do something that could harm them. For example,
if they jump over the fence just to drink alcohol, this could result in an accident. Students would
also consider the consequences of not listening to their teachers.
QUESTIONNAIRE

Do you think cutting class is bad?

Do you believe that the cause of skipping courses is alcoholism?

Do you believe skipping subjects will have an impact on academic achievement?

SIGNIFICANCES OF THE STUDY

The following will benefit from this research:

A Learners. The pupils ought to be able to get at school on time. They could learn to take
responsibility. The students will benefit from this study since it will give them accurate information
regarding the advantages of attending class on a regular basis.

B. Parents could nudge their kids to arrive at school promptly. It's important for parents to be aware of
their children's behavior at school. Additionally, this would provide them the chance to assist their
children in coping with issues that can impair their performance, particularly in terms of their
academics.

C. Administrators and educators. They could assist one another in carrying out initiatives to
encourage pupils to arrive at school early.
ENVIRONMENT

People also ask What are the factors that cause cutting classes among the students?

Class Cutting as an avoidance of confrontation with teachers. Failure to do their assignments prompt
students not to attend enter some of their classes. They fear that their teachers would reprimand
them. When late they stay outside and wait until the subject or period is over.

Cutting class creates an undesirable habit and mindset. This mindset is the mindset of being lazy.
When you cut, you also create this habit of walking away from something you do not find desirable,
even if this activity/thing you are walking away from is important and necessary.

First, students usually think classes are boring. They are not willing to spend time on things they are
not interested in. They may think the content of the textbook is not useful in the future. They may think
they go to college just for a diploma
RESPONDENTS

First, most students consider their classes to be dull. They are unwilling to invest time in pursuits in
which they have little interest. They might believe that the information in the textbook won't be
valuable in the future. They might believe that attending college is solely for a diploma.
Second, pupils who cross the fence for no apparent reason don't consider whether their parents are
aware of their attitude at school, which is similar to a child who hasn't given much thought to the
future.
