Big Crochet Bag : Free Crochet Patterns

Beach or Market Bag Crochet

Pattern || Big Tote Bag Pattern.
This has to be the easiest crochet market bag of all to make. Perfect as a
project to take to the beach or on vacation *. Bring 4 balls worth of yarn with
you, a huge hook (size K) and this free crochet pattern, and you’re all set. Once
you’ve made 1, you’ll make a couple.

Tips for Making this Crochet Market Bag

 This bag is plain. Which is classy and practical: it will match any outfit.
However, I think this bag design benefits from a couple of crochet roses,
and other flowers flowers with leaves. You can find an easy free crochet
flower pattern here. And just for kicks, I’ve added a clover leaf below, so
this can become your lucky bag.
 This bag is big. It’s about 44 inches or 112 cm in circumference at its
widest point.  In short, it will fit all, so don’t limit its purpose to groceries! I
use mine for going away for the weekend or head for the beach, just
throwing everything in there that we need, and off we go. Very practical
bag for bulky items. (*or use this crochet bag to otherwise slept lots of
stuff to/fro boyfriend apartments or summer houses)
 Having lived with this very bag for a few years now, I highly recommend
lining this bag with cotton lining and add a few pockets into the bag, near
the top.  You’ll love me when you can just reach in and find your car
keys.

CROCHET BAG MATERIALS

4 Balls Lion Brand Cotton Ease , which is 50%
cotton and 50% acrylic (featured color: taupe,
830-122) ~ each 3.50 oz./100 g (207 yd/188 m)
Lion Brand Crochet Hook – Size K-10.5
Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)

CROCHET BAG GAUGE:

11 dc = about 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO

CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the
gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size
specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be
sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square,
try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger
size hook or needles.
