1. ZE9060 CONTROLLER IN BOOTLOADER MODE
o Connect to the 9060 controller
o Open the ADS4 configurator
o Press S3 (BOOT SW) and hard cycle the 9060 controller at the same time
o Boot Utility screen will pop up
o Select the latest AMS9060 firmware

2. RESETTING THE SYNERGY NETWORK CARD TO FACTORY DEFAULTS
Instructions on how to reset the network card to factory defaults using the Dip Switch method.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must do this with the network card & controller powered ON, so please be very careful not to insert
anything metal into the controller/network card to flip the switch.
o Remove the protective film on S2

Set S2-1 in the ON position
o Wait 10 seconds (the status LED on the SNC will turn amber after 3 seconds, and then green after 10
seconds)
o Flip S2-1 OFF
i. The LED should turn off to indicate the restore was successful. (If the LED turns RED the restore
has failed and you might need a replacement network card.)
o The SNC should reboot automatically and have the settings restored to factory defaults when it comes back
up (Green LED).

3. SYNERGY CAPACITOR BOARD RECOVERY MODE
o Connect the laptop to the capacitor board
o Put P5 in the IN position
o press s3 for a few seconds and release
o LED DS8 starts flashing rapidly
o Put P5 in the OUT position
o Soft reboot the controller from Flash Downloads tab in the ADS Configurator
o Select the correct capacitor board from the dropdown box
o Install the latest Capacitor board firmware
o Start the download
o reboot the controller

4. SYNERGY ALARM BOARD RECOVERY MODE
o Access the alarm board by removing three screws located on the top of pedestal.
o Press & Hold S3 & S2 at the same time (doesn’t matter which one is pressed first, only that they both end up
pressed down together). Refer to picture shown below for S3 & S2 locations.
o Release S2 (Reset) and continue holding S3 (Boot/Mode) down for few seconds.
i. Note: This allows the program to run (reset released) and read the state of S3 (Boot/Mode).
ii. When the bootloader “sees” that S3 is grounded (switch pressed) it will stay in the bootloader.
o Release S3 (Boot/Mode). Using the ADS4 Configurator, Soft reboot the controller by clicking on “reset
switch” in the configurator (shown below). This will auto discover the Synergy pedestal alarm board.
o Load the latest firmware for the Synergy Alarm Board

5. SYNERGY IMFD CARD BOATLOADER MODE
o Connect to the iMfd Card
o Open the ADS4 configurator
o Press S1 on the iMfd Card
o Reboot the AMS-9060 Controller
o Boot Utility message will pop up
o Load the latest firmware for the iMfdCard

6. AMS9040 CONTROLLER IN BOOTLOADER MODE
o Connect RS232 communication cable from laptop directly to the AMS9040
o Remove power
o Short P18: Pin 1 to TP108

o Open the ADS4 Configurator, the Boot Utility message will pop
o remove the connection between P18 pin 1 and TP108 Gnd
o Load the latest firmware for the AMS-9040 controller
o When download complete go to advanced settings and clear nvm

7. AMS9050 CONTROLLER IN BOOTLOADER MODE
Default position jumper P87 = pin 2+3 for reset:
o Connect RS232 communication cable from laptop directly to the AMS9050
o Remove power
o put jumper P87 to pin 1 and 2,
o power up and wait for the boot utility running message
o put jumper P87 to pin 2 and 3
o select the firmware to download
o after download complete go to advanced settings and do a clear NVM

8. ProMax5 IN BOOTLOADER MODE
o Unplug and remove the RS485 HI and Low (Red and Brown wire) from the communication cable.
o Locate and hold the S1 button on the Capacitor board, while holding the S1 button, plug in the
communication cable.
o Open the ADS4 Configurator and navigate to the Flash Download tab option
o In the Device Address type in “00” and select Connect To Peripheral Device “Directly”
o Wait for 30 seconds for a message to prompt the “Unknown Boot is running”
o Flash the latest firmware version for ProMax5

9. DoorMax4A IN BOOTLOADER MODE
o Unplug and remove the RS485 HI and Low (Red and Brown wire) from the communication cable.
o Locate and hold the S1 button on the Capacitor board, while holding the S1 button, plug in the
communication cable.
o Open the ADS4 Configurator and navigate to the Flash Download tab option
o In the Device Address type in “00” and select Connect To Peripheral Device “Directly”
o Wait for 30 seconds for a message to prompt the “Unknown Boot is running”
o Flash the latest firmware version for DoorMax4A

10. AMS9030 / AMS9033 CONTROLLER IN BOOTLOADER MODE
o Close configurator if it’s open.
o Connect RS232 communication cable from laptop directly to the AMS9030/9033
o Remove power
o Connect a cable from the Reset Flash point to the chassis of the power pack
o Power up and wait 10 seconds before removing cable
o Start Digital Platform configurator
o Go to browse and select the application to download
o Go to browse and select the FPGA to download
o Execute firmware upgrade
o When download completes close configurator
o Remove power from AMS9030/AMS9033 and wait 10 seconds
o Power up AMS9030/9033 again
o Start configurator again
o Go to advanced settings and do a clear NVM
o Power cycle the pack again

11. AMC7000 DUAL METAL DETECTION IN BOOTLOADER MODE
o Connect RS232 communication cable from the laptop directly to the AMC7000
o Remove power and put jumper on P11 pin 3 and 4,
o power up and remove the jumper on P11 within 2s after powering on AMC7000
o If you don’t get the message Boot Utility is running, please repeat the steps again
o Do a firmware download
o When download is complete, go to advanced settings and do a clear NVM

12. AMC7010 DUAL METAL DETECTION IN BOOTLOADER MODE
There are 2 procedures, depending on the bootloader. You can see the bootloader version in the Flash
download tab. If you can’t access this tab because the AMC7010 is behaving strange, you have first to try
the method for bootloader 1.300. If that one doesn’t work, try the method from bootloader 1.200.
For bootloader 1.200
o Connect RS232 communication cable from laptop directly to the AMC7010
o Remove power
o Connect test point E67 to ground
o Power up and wait till you see the message Boot Utility is running.
o Remove the connection between test point E67 and ground
o Do a firmware download
o When download is complete, go to advanced settings and clear NVM
For bootloader 1.300
o Connect RS232 communication cable from laptop directly to the AMC7010
o Remove power
o Place jumper on P21 pin 3 and 4,
o Power up and wait till you see the message Boot Utility is running.
o Remove the jumper from p21
o Do a firmware download
o When download is complete, go to advanced settings and clear NVM

13. AMC1060 IN BOOTLOADER MODE
1. You will power off the DRA
2. Short TP-5 to the two axial of S1 right of R10
3. Open the ADS 4 configurator
4. Power back on the DRA
5. And look for a pop up message “Boot utility Running flash download file is needed” on Configurator
6. Remove jumper wire
7. Then continue the flash download.
14. UPIII IN BOOTLOADER MODE
1. No Hardware reset option change the top board sp0312-0785-03
15. UPIV IN BOOTLOADER MODE
1. Flash Override (P4, pins 3 and 4) To inhibit the Transmitter, short the two pins of the Tx Inhibit connector

16. UPVI IN BOOTLOADER MODE
1. Remove power from the system.
2. Jumper pins 1 and 2 on P18.
3. Start the configurator.
4. Connect the laptop to the system.
5. Apply power to the system.

17. AMS1080 IN BOOTLOADER MODE
Default position jumper P64 = pin 2+3 for reset:
o Connect RS232 communication cable from laptop directly to the AMS9050
o Remove power
o put jumper P64 to pin 1 and 2,
o power up and wait for the boot utility running message
o put jumper P64 to pin 2 and 3
o select the firmware to download
o after download complete go to advanced settings and do a clear NVM
18. AMS1140 IN BOOTLOADER MODE
o The bootloader header is P67 on the 1140. Short the 2 pins on power up.
It is located in the lower left corner of the board right above the RS232 jack.
