Proposal for 24 Hours Hackathon Event

Technology Club is planning to organize a 24-Hour Hackathon on 15th September 2023


marking National Engineer’s Day, for all the schools of Woxsen University, as well as for
outside Universities/colleges who are interested can participate and showcase their ideas. The
Problem statements will be provided to the students while registration itself. A time of 24
hours will be provided to the participants where they can exhibit their critical thinking and
coding capabilities.

In this 24-hour hackathon, they need to develop a solution for the chosen problem statement.
The competition is divided into 3 levels. The competition begins at 11:00am. The 1 st Level is
Idea Pitching where the students will present their idea in front of the panel after 2 hours of
the commencement of the competition i.e. 1:00pm. The 2 nd Level is building the prototype
and this would be judged after 13 hours of the beginning of the level i.e. 2:00am and the 3 rd
Level is the final prototype demonstration which would be judged at 11:00am.

Rules and Regulations: -

1. Each team can have 4 - 5 members only. Students from different universities/institutes
can form a team.
2. The entry fee will be Rs.100/- per participant (If the transportation is not provided).
The entry fee will be Rs.150/- per participant (If the transportation is provided).
3. Each member of the team should have the identity card of his/her respective
University/college.
4. If the participant requires any hardware tools, it needs to be brought by the
participant. An uninterrupted Wi-Fi network will be provided in the location.
5. Unethical behaviour could lead to disqualification. Student Coordinators will have all
the rights to take final decisions for any matter during the event.
6. Judge’s decision will be considered final.
7. Certificates will be given to all the participants.

VENUE: -

1. We would like to conduct the event in Library.


2. An uninterrupted Wi-Fi network is mandatory in the venue (If possible, we request to
activate a new connection for the competition only)
Phases in the Event: -

1. In this 24-hour hackathon, they need to develop a solution for the chosen problem
statement which is completely based on a time trial system.
2. The competition is divided into 3 Levels where the judgment is after every level.
3. Level 1 is Idea Pitching where the students will present their idea in front of the panel.
This level of judgment will be done after 2 hours of the commencement of the
competition.
4. Level 2 of the competition will be the building of the prototype. The judgment will be
taken after 12 hours of Level 1 completion. Here the judgment is based on 70%
progress of the prototype.
5. Level 3 is the completion of the entire prototype and demonstration of their final
prototype. The judgment will be taken at the end of the hackathon duration.

Winning Conditions:
1. A team having a novel idea and an optimized solution subjected to the judge’s
decision will be awarded.

Requirements:
1. Participants will be provided with a 5-course meal during the event which includes
breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and 2 refreshment breaks. We request to provide breakfast,
Lunch, and Dinner. Additionally, it would be great if Hot Tea/Coffee and any kind of
snacks are provided during the refreshments break. (**Oval Team)
2. We are planning to conduct the event in the library such that each team can have its
own space for working on the project. An uninterrupted Wi-Fi network is required.

3. Since the University is far from Hyderabad City, we request the University to provide
2 Buses to Miyapur so that it would be helpful for the participants to join this event.

4. We also request to provide accommodation to the jury or the panel members (internal
or external members) who come for the judgement. (**Hostel Team)
5. Since we are collecting the entry fee from the participants, we want the finance
department to create a QR code and handle the finances. (**Finance Team)
Sponsorship and Prize Money:

Looking up for a sponsorship of Rs.1 Lakh to organize the Intra-University event.

The Prize money Pool is Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand Rupees Only) from the sponsored
money.

1st Prize = Rs. 25,000/- (Twenty-Five Thousand Rupees Only)

2nd Prize = Rs. 15,000/- (Fifteen Thousand Rupees Only)

3rd Prize = Rs.10,000/- (Ten Thousand Rupees Only)
