AWOL Letter To Employee

An employee has been absent from work without authorization for three consecutive workdays. According to company policy, this is considered voluntary termination of employment. The employee is asked to provide a written explanation within five days as to why they should not face disciplinary action for being absent without leave. Dear Mr/Ms. ____________,

This letter is to inform you that as of ___________ __ you have been absent from work
without authorization for a period of three consecutive workdays.

According to our policy, employees who are absent from duty for three consecutive
workdays without authorization from the PIC/PM are considered to have voluntarily
terminated their employment.

Kindly explain in writing within five working days upon receipt hereof, why you should not
be subjected to appropriate disciplinary action in connection with AWOL. Failure to respond
with the given period will be clarified as a waiver of your right to be heard and you will be
considered to have voluntarily resigned from employment.

Please give your immediate attention to this matter.
