Histopath Unit 1

The document provides an overview of general pathology concepts for medical technologist students. It defines key terms like histology, pathology, histopathology, and biopsy. It explains that pathology involves examining tissues and organs to study and diagnose disease. It outlines the goals for students to understand normal cell and tissue structure, pathological processes, and the ability to differentiate normal and abnormal tissues. The document also provides basic descriptions of cells, tissues, and defines the fields of histopathology and the procedures of biopsy and autopsy.
