Read the dialogue below and answer the questions that follow.

Sofia : Mum, can you please lend me some money?


Mother : Why? How much do you want?
Sofia : I want to buy a gift for my friend as it’s her birthday next week. I have about RM
5.00
in my savings. I need another RM 15.00. I would like to get her some stationery.
Mother : OK. Why don’t you help me with some chores and I’ll pay you if you do them well?
Sofia : That sounds like a good idea. And, if I get extra money I can buy some stationery for
myself too. I would also like to buy a handphone.
Mother : What’s wrong with your present one?
Sofia : It’s not working well.
Mother : Why don’t you repair it?
Sofia : It costs too much to repair it, Mum. I might as well buy a new phone that won’t give
trouble for some time.
Mother : That’s going to cost you quite a bit.
Sofia : Yes. I know. It’ll take some time before I make enough money to buy it. My friend
says I can sell some things that I’m not using which are still in good condition online.
What do you think?
Mother : That’s a good idea. Maybe I too can give you some things that I’m not using and you
can try and sell them online. It’s a good way to recycle and get ried of the things we
don’t need.
Sofia : OK. Thanks, Mum. Let me find out more about this and see what I can come up

The style of writing is informal because it has no title and doesn’t follow the
format.

person who know us better than friends and mother has more experience about

In my opinion, the right age for any person to do online shopping or selling is 18
and above. It is because this age is in the adult level which is they can have their
own choise.

2. Is online shopping better than offline shopping? Do you agree with the statement?
Explain your answer.

Its yes and no because it has the advantages and also the disadvantages. For
examples, we can do online shopping anytime you wants because the online
shopping has no closes time. But you dont know the real shapes of the things you
buy. Its can be a scam or real.
